His point is that everyone thought we were old, done, not going to be competitive etc. That includes Mavs fans who told us this isn't the year. And now we are leading the division. It was more for emphasis that we aren't done. We know it's still early and that there's a bunch of time left for things to change, that it doesn't mean anything, etc.

Yeah well even if we had DA in the LA series I don't think that the spurs would have won.

Damn Lakers were fabulous that year in the playoffs. Spurs were so predictable that Horry and Harp were laughing at Spurs cause they knew what the spurs gonna play and they were on the places on the court they knew the spurs players will be.

Yeah but still LAkers were more powerfull that year.
We had no slasher, DA was the only one who could provide some frshnes to the stagnat spurs.
We had no pint guard, AJ was done, we had old Porter and Antonio Daniels who if in a game had to go against Kobe who had lots of adventages (shooting, dominant force inside for excample).

Not long ago, people were talking about the Spurs not even making the playoffs. Now they're about to overtake the Lakers for 1st in the WC. Spurs fans have some bragging rights. Not due to the title 'first in the <anything>;' that's Dallas' thing.

We can brag becuase the public almost or completely counted us out way too early in the season> The same thing is happening year after year.
