View Full Version : Observations.....

Got to go to game tonight and sit courtside.
Literally, the seat next to the Spurs bench. Which was quite cool.

Wanted to share some cool observations.

1) Manu looked tired as hell tonight. Even in the timeouts, he would just sit there and stare. Kind of out of it. And his freaking thigh pads are bigger than the one's we had in Middle School Football.

2)Horry is into the game. It's funny how he seems kind of relax and that he doesn't care, but he sat at the end of the bench for a few minutes, and was much more vocal than anyone.

3) Udoka, doesn't talk. I'm pretty conviced that he is a mute. Several times people talked to him and he would nod. I don't think he said a word the entire game.

4) When the Spurs scored 5 Freaking points in the first half. No one panicked. Pop didn't rip into them at all. In fact, at one point he came down and offered encouragement which was cool.

5) Even when the Spurs were up late, it's really cool to see the guys have a meeting before the coaches join the huddle. They talk about screens, about how guys are leaning a certain direction. Very cool little details.

6) Bonner is a f'n cool guy. At the 2nd Quarter, we joked with him that the game didn't need more cowbell, it needed more Bonner. And he quotes back..."I'm not sure. Cowbell is pretty cool". He was interacted with us all night.

7)Even at the end of the game with a victory in reach, it was cool to see Bruce, Manu, and Tim talking about adjustments...etc

At the end of the game, Manu had one of the NBA towels and I asked him for it, and he gave it to me.

Just wanted to share!

DAMN, how'd you manage those seats?

Man, a towel with Manu Ginobili's glistening sweat all over it. Somewhere, Spurschick is plotting her robbery as we speak. :lol

Nice seat. It must be really cool to be that close that you can hear them during the game.

Thanks for sharing.

WOW...those are some close seats! That's right next to the Spurs bench, practically seating with them!

Nice observations. Thanks for sharing. I'm always curious about what happens during the game.

So Ime doesn't talk as much? And Manu looks tired? Probably all those minutes and crazy 40 pt games getting to him...

So which Spurs players talk the most to each other during the game? I know they all usually give each other advice about certain things during the game...

It seems to me that Udoka was already pretty cool, but the fact that he doesn't talk, that, that's just awesome. :lol he's now my second favorite Spur behind Bonner

manu is dead tired, we only scored 5 first quarter points, and still we won. Though it was only against the hawks, i'll gladly take this win. Thanks for sharing your observations. my only question is-how did you got this close to the spurs bench?

Great observations, we should press Udoka's ball to know if he can scream ... Manu needs vacation.

Very, very cool. Awesome photo! Now I wonder what I could do to persuade Pop to get me those seats? ;)

Pete, hell bro you were so close, if it was a 30 point blowout, you might have seen some PT.

Horry believe it or not talks a bunch. Timmy also chimed in and Tony, but surprisingly it was Horry that was the most vocal last night.

What's funny is in the 4th, I had had a few cocktails, and Pop yells at Vaughn and Vaughn doesn't hear him. He yells the 2nd time, and I half got up and made a move like he called me. And we both got up at the same time.

The security guy freaked the hell out, and the guys that I was with nearly fell to the floor laughing.

Someday....Someday....

The closet I've sat was in the 5th row. That alone was a pretty incredible experience.

I can't imagine what it would be like to literally be on the bench.

Amazing, thanks for sharing.

P.S.- Mr. Burns, are you a teacher?

Oh, ok. Thanks for answering my questions!

Horry is a veteran player with a LOT of experience...I think that's why he would tend to be more vocal...

What about Manu and Bruce? Do they also give inputs during the game?

Rumor has it that Peter Burns acquired that ticket from Brent Barry. In exchange, Stacie The Sports Chick will now be known as Stacie "Bones" Lundy.
