Bruce Bowen and Michael Finley = Players of the Game

I know that Manu/Tim did a lot in the first half. But got damn, Bowen and Finley did the damage. Not bad for old guys :smokin

Nothing sweeter than for him to block Terry. That's probably the one player on that team I would want someone to stuff, even more so than Dirk.

Also GREAT game for Bruce. Bruce knocked down the midrange jumper tonight and hit some threes, plus one drive to the rim to draw the foul, and make both free throws. Oh and his usual defense on top of it all. Magnificent game from Bruce.

I was just about to start a Bruce Bowen thread!!!!

His defense is off the charts!

His block on Jason Terry is just sweet to watch! Especially, after he was disrespecting him...and Terry is someone I just can't stand.

The irony is after the Terry technical, Finley also went nuts!

Props to Bruce for not only the two blocks(one clutch block) but also for his 14 pts for the game, out of 5-8 shooting, 2-4 out of 3 pointers. And he made both of his FTs!

Also huge props to Finley for his 16 pts right when the Spurs really needed them!!!

T Park

Bruce Bowen star of the game.

Dude was a stud at both ends, clutch FTs, and his defense was as always, clutch.

Props to Bruce Bowen. One of the most underapreciated Spurs of all time.

Ruff said he only wanted Bruce to go onto the bench for offensive reasons, absolutely nothing to do with Bruce losing a step on defense. Don't go making shit up.

And where did we struggle again tonight for most of the game? OFFENSE. The big three were the only ones scoring in the first half, then in the second half others stepped up such and Michael and Bruce, but again a lot of our struggles are offensively outside of the big three. THAT was a very VALID reason by Ruff to suggest benching Bruce AT THAT TIME when our offense wasn't so good.

Sure. Those stats also show one of the better 3 point shooters in the game. Of course, he's the best perimeter defender in the game and allows the Spurs to defend top perimeter scorers one on one, which is essential for their defense these days.

Ron Artest can do what Bowen does. In one quarter.

One of the best 3 shooters? I guess if you average under 6 PPG, that's quite a feat!

Bowen also allows one player to cheat on double teams on defense.

He pretty much sucks, but is cheap and gets away with murder.

he's great in that NBA Cares spot, though.

Bowen's shots are primarily 3s of which he hits 40%. You get a grip. You have no idea what he brings to the game because you are arguing against him based on offensive stats.

Again, the Spurs defensive scheme of which Bowen is a vital cog, has led to 3 titles in the last 5 years. And you want some chucker to replace him. Brilliant.
