last year was automatic, and the shots he missed still looked good

but since his return it's like he forgot how to shoot a ball, Spurs don't repeat if he isn't in finals MVP form

....Or maybe he's still getting back in shape, his legs are tired, and he's still rusty? :rolleyes

I think I'd chalk it up to rust from the layoff.

When I played ball in high school, I got some great advice from a coach who told me to always warm up shooting inside, then work your way out. I think once Parker gets his automatic drives going inside, his outside jumper will open up and he'll start hitting them.

It was nice seeing him out there again, though.

Agreed. Thing is with a jump shot, it takes consistent practice to maintain form. The good shooters shoot 100's a day. With his ankle hurt, I'd imagine TP would have been resting almost completely from any form of training.

Parker will be fine.
He said he was still getting in game shape.

He gave Dirk a face full of one late in the 4th, didn't he? The fact that he isn't hesitating is a good sign.

It has nothing to do with form and everything to do with confidence. I agree with Guajalote that Parker needs to focus on getting into an offensive rhythm by working driving and finishing at the rim. Once he has re-established that, it'll flow from there.

In last year's all-star game Tony hit a jumpstop fadeaway 20-ft leaner....that was all confidence. And we don't have to mention the finals....

He'll get there again.

that jumpshot from the FT line which hit nothing but backboard was alarming, and now is not the time for Parker to lose his fucking confidence

I am a dumbfuck with no confidence in my team that constantly need re-assurance like a small child.

The hell with the jump shot. Tony needs to get in the paint. He is a one-dementional player and that one-demension is being able to finish at the rim which he is VERY good at. When he can't get in the paint he can't impact the game any way else.

I see somebody's still stuck in 2005. :lol

The only thing i'm stuck in is reality my freind. Tony's shot has improved but do you honestly want him taking a jump shot in the guts of a big game? When he can't get in the lane his game suffers. I'm not hating on Tony or anything it's just the truth.

After Game 3 of the 2007 Finals? Yes.

In fact, I'm comfortable with any of the Big Three taking whatever shot they want to take in crunchtime. They've earned it.

When was the last time Tim wasn't able to get into the lane? And you must not pay attention to the defensive end of the floor since that is where Tim is the acnhor of what we do defensively.

He was playing injured for a while, I don't know if you are referring to the injury as when he started sitting out, because he was injured prior to that and was still playing. After the bad performance against the Jazz Pop decided he needed to sit him so he could heal.

I am more comfortable with tp shooting a jump shot then duncan at the free throw line late in the game

Parker's made some clutch jumpers before. I'm comfortable with him shooting them.

was at the game and all were short. Im with he still getting back in game form. As far as him not making in before injury, I think most dont know how long he actually was playing injured.

That's what happen when you get injured and don't play from quite a while. So don't worry. he'll be back before the regular season ends.

Yes. He won many a game this year prior to the injury with his jumper.

Christ you people are too impatient.

I said that Parker's shooting form had reverted to his pre-Engelland days in the Dallas game blog.

I've observed in the past that he shoots in his old form when he's tired, but I only saw one post-Engelland form jumper in the Dallas game (he sank it).

It's a concern because his J will be erratic as long as his old form is present. He has to get in the gym and get back in the form Engelland taught him last season that was such an improvement and lent another dimension to his game.

I hope it is an aberration.

As long as Tony looks to be quick and explosive i don't worry about him. HE seems to have that back so the rest will come.
