And after today we'll have the quietest 9 game winning streak and so on...

Same shit every year.

Of course they do, everyone is riding Kobe Bryants jock strap these days. His 50 pt game today will have ESPN eating out of his hand for a good month.

Yeah...both the Spurs and the Pistons thrive when they're under the radar.

I predict this year it will be the Spurs/Lakers in the WCF and the Celtics/Pistons in the ECF. And I predict that despite all the hype, it will be the Spur and the Pistons in the Finals again....

That's exactly what I said in a previous thread, keep them under the media radar

The Spurs could go 82-0 and still be under the radar. Its bullshit, but does make bitchslapping the media darlings in the playoffs more enjoyable.

Quiet, but they've also played like crap. I'm not sure if this is more or less impressive.

More like, we have the quietest 4 championships in 9 years. We need to work together to start a nationwide "5 for .500!" campaign (since 5 in 10 years = .500 championship percentage). Then maybe ESPN and Friends will give us some love.

9 game wining streaks are never noticed when a team has a 15 game win streak in the same conference. Houston has not lost since January.

Houston has not played a formidable opponent, other than the Hornets, since January either............

+1 Exactly...Stern will sigh, the advertisers will weep, and the talking heads will grumble, but true fans of good basketball will cheer! Spurs and Pistons for all the marbles...LET'S DO IT!!! :toast

How do you win 9 games in a row by playing like crap? We're doing what we need to do to get wins. Duncan is struggling and Parker is just now back to being healthy. Manu is playing the best ball of his career. Ime and Finley are stepping their game up.

Winners of 13 of 14. 1st in the conference. If we're playing like crap, I feel sorry for other teams out there.

I still dont think it tops the best 13 game winning streak in NBA history we had last year.

or that they became the first team in NBA history to have the longest winning streak in the NBA on March 13, 2007.

I wonder how many people are going to get this

I'm a Spurs/Tim Duncan fan because both are under-rated.

The media is slobbering all over it's self since the 'Golden Children' Lakers have the semblance of a team this year. We won't get a mention until we win our 5th championship. Same crap every year- no respect until they can't ignore us anymore.

Everyone expects the Spurs to do well this time of year, you're not surprising anyone with your 9 game win streak.

Yeah, everyone's excited about the Lakers because they are doing something again.
