During the in-game interview with Bynum, he mentioned that he still had some swelling in his knee. Did he give an update on his return date?
Van Gundy mentioned a rumor that he might not be back until the playoffs. That would definitely change my perspective on the Lakers as the biggest threat to the Spurs.

He'll be back before the playoffs. Thats all we need to know. Lakers aren't rushing him with Gasol here.
The Lakers have refused to give an official timetable for his return date. They are sticking to their orginal prediction of AT LEAST 8 weeks, but have reassured everybody that he will be ready before the playoffs. Thats all that matters anyways.

If Bynum isn't back with at least 15 games, I'd say it's going to be pretty tough for him to acclimate into the scheme of things.

yeah, and I would add to that AND fully healed... Ever tried to pivot with a sore knee? he's gonna need time to regain confidence in his knee. Lakers aren't going anywhere with Pau playing C.

The Lakers are not going to put Bynum on the floor unless he is fully healed. They are not that stupid. Our championship window is wide open for the next 5 years, we are under no pressure to rush things.
Bynum should be back within 10-11 weeks. He will probably have around 10 games or so to get reacclimated. Will it be enough, I have no idea.

Bynum coming back with 10 games to go in the season means hell have a few weeks to get ready for the postseason. The fact he will be back at that time at the latest is more than good enough news for me.
