Anyone else think these superstitions have gone too far?

It seems like people are starting to use the whole even year thing and out record as number one seed as cast iron evidence that we will not win the title this year. And not as a joke...they seem serious.

It seems like people are using silly stats like that in all sports now though. The stuff is fun to think about but it seems like everyone puts way too much stock in that stuff.
