A London "artist" who has collected his boogers for two years and rolled them into a "ball of snot" that he has displayed at four separate art exhibitions says he's willing to sell the snot ball for $20,000. Said James Robert Ford: "It's a physical record of all the different places I have been and people I've met."

That is sooo disgusting - I certainly wouldn't call this guy an "artist!" :wtf

I'm so tired of bullshit art like this that is only made for the shock factor. Yes, it brings people to the galleries that wouldn't have ordinarily gone, but there's not sufficient conceptual content to warrant it. Gives modern art a bad name. Sounds like he's misplaced from the Dada era - "art for art's sake".

There was an exhibit in Germany a few years ago by a guy who cut up cows in sections and placed the slabs in between glass panels so people could walk through the cows as an anatomical kind of art exhibit.

Fuck that. If I was a Republican I'd be referring to the work as immoral and unpatriotic. People can pick their nose and call it art all they want, but a blatantly advertised pricetag like that signifies intent to sell over content.

That's very true about a lot of the high publicity art - it sucks that in the art world it really is more about who you know than the art you make.

oh so you are immoral and unpatriotic

And you are such a terrorist.

I haven't heard that in forever..... :lol :rollin

Art History was one of my favorite classes in college....this is unbelievably ridiculous. Funny, but is that really how you'd want future generations to study our culture and what we're all about? We will be known for the largest non-stick frying pan, the largest ball of twine...and the most expensive ball of boogers. Great.

:fro :lol

Well, the asking price is not necessarily the selling price. That being said, I wonder what the current most expensive ball of boggers is? One dollar strikes me as too much. The only thing I can think of to use it for would be a 'breakup gift'. "Look, honey, I bought you some art!"

Y'know...The whole time we were driving to CA, I kept seeing signs for this:

Perhaps the Ball O' Boogers is The Thing?

You know, as retarded as this piece is, he did work on it longer than Duchamp worked on the urinal he stole out of a bathroom and signed and exhibited in Paris.
