You gotta' do something there.

Dude takes you around the neck and drops you...I don't care how "nice" he is and how good his reputation is. Get in his face. Do something. Don't throw a punch and get suspended, but don't walk off like nothing happened.

On another note, didn't Murphy get into it earlier this season with someone and get punched in the face? I guess he's not that "nice" of a guy after all.

I agree to an extent. The ultimate "in your face" is scoreboard.

But still, you have to have a line you draw. You hold your ground and keep your cool Manu-style to a certain extent. I always thought Udoka would be one of the few guys on the team, maybe Horry being the other, who would retaliate in a situation like that.

Kinda' let me down he didn't

Why should Ime waste his baddassery on the Pacers?

They suck. Being a Pacer with pooh as your only fan is punishment enough.

Also true.

But you didn't feel a little let down? If anything Kurt Thomas should have retaliated, or Horry. If not on that play, one of the following plays. Anyways, that's not the Spurs MO. =( I still would have liked to see it though.

No, the Spurs show in the long run that they have class.

or do things the Tim Duncan way:

When, during college, Duke center Greg Newton ripped Duncan for being "passive," "soft" and "babyish" after one game, reporters dutifully trotted to Duncan for a response, sure that he would rise to the bait. The insults were just too blatant. "He's a great player," Duncan said calmly, and Newton has been living down the comments ever since.

No need to risk a suspension during this stretch of games.

The last thing Udoka needs heading into the playoffs is a reputation as a "troublemaker". The last thing the Spurs need heading into the playoffs is another reason for the refs to blow against them.

The important thing is to blow these crap teams out early so our starters are on the bench when they start getting chippy.

You wanted Udoka to throw a punch? LOL

That's a little extreme isn't it? I could see maybe you saying push him, but throw a punch would be the stupidest move ever. He'd not only get suspended, Pop would throw him in the doghouse.

In the original post he said don't throw a punch, I think he just wanted a reaction. This mentality is born out of insecurity, Udoka knows he's a bad ass so there's no reason for him to put up aires. Udoka's one confident dude to show restraint there.

Yeah, I re-read it after I posted. Blame the medication, I can't really read that well. :lol

Either way, I don't think it would wise for him to do anything. Last time he got T'd up, Pop wasn't pleased at all.

Na, Kori...

I never said throw a punch. In fact I specifically said "not throw a punch". But do SOMETHING. Get up, get in his face, a shove maybe. Exchange some pleasantries. ANYTHING other than get up and walk off like nothing happened.

Ime is probably the last person on the Spurs another team should mess with. But yeah, you don't waste a retaliation against the Pacers when you are up by 20. If that was Jason Terry, then it probably would have been a different story . . .

What it does is make the other fucker think twice the next time he wants to lay you out on a fast break when they're down by 20 late in the game.

If Ime had any ups, that would be Juwan Howard / Derek Anderson all over again.

Hadn't heard about his reaction, but sounds to me like he's a perfect addition to this team.

Maybe everybody isn't aware of the fact that Ime is the baddest motherfucker in the building, but I guarantee you Ime is aware of it. That's why he didn't retaliate. The second you let one guy get under your skin, everybody's going to be doing it to you every single night. You make your free throws and get the W and they learn their lesson.

Udoka seems like a quiet storm. He rarely talks, but he also seems like the guy that when involved in a fight death is the only option.
Quiet guys like that are very very extremely incredibly dangerous
