Sat, Mar 8 - New Jersey
Mon, Mar 10 - NY Knicks
Wed, Mar 12 - Charlotte
Fri, Mar 14 - Indiana
Sun, Mar 16 - @ Miami
Tue, Mar 18 - LA Lakers
Thu, Mar 20 - Boston
Sun, Mar 23 - San Antonio
Tue, Mar 25 - LA Clippers
Thu, Mar 27 - @ Denver
Sun, Mar 30 - @ Golden State
Mon, Mar 31 - @ LA Clippers

The rest of March must be played to near-perfection for the Mavs to still have a chance in this thing.

The Mavs MUST -

1. Win 5 straight against New Jersey, New York, Charlotte, Indiana, & Miami

2. Take 2 of 3 from the Lakers, Boston, & SA

3. Win 3 of 4 against Clippers, Denver, GS, Clippers

If they fail in any of these three objectives, the Mavs can officially be flushed goodbye.

Agreed. If they can't do that, they might as well miss the playoffs since the pick we sent to Jersey is lottery-protected.

I see them losing to Lakers, Boston and SA. They could conceivably win the rest of them.

are you sure it's lottery protected. I didn't see it reported

The team is tuning out Avery, and have no identity. At first they looked like they had a better O with Kidd, but they're back the same ISO heavy offense that Avery likes which isn't utilizing the strenghts of Kidd. Until they find a role and identity and heart, the Mavs are like the Suns-going down the drain.

The mavs are done. Avery is just a horrible coach and the players are starting to agree which spells doom.

I'm just going by the dallasbaskeball.com boards. Several of the posters there said it was lottery protected. I'm pretty sure they know what they're talking about.

Trading away youth's not looking too good at the moment.

Is is just speculation about Avery? I mean, it's possible cause he had a history of getting on people's nerves in SA.

It may not be realistic for this team to win a title, but to not make the playoffs? To endorse an approach of "taking it easy" when the west was this competitive?

This has to be Avery's last season with Dallas, no matter what happens this year.

I can't stand looking at this crappy ISO offense.

P.S. Trade Josh too!

Part 1 was completed. That was the easy part.

Their next 3 games really should all be W's. A Lakers team without Gasol.....that HAS to be a win. And I'll give the Mavs leeway if they lose to Boston or SA, but not both.

3-0 should be expected in this next stretch. 2-1 is acceptable, but anything less than that and I think it's fair to say that the Mavericks are not contenders this season.

Dampier is gonna have a career game against the Laker frontcourt ... lol ... never thought I'd ever be paying Dampier any compliments but the Lakers are just too undermanned.

they are still 3 games ahead of denver. it may not be as daunting a task as you have envisioned.

Mavs are at home and Kobe is easier to guard without Bynum and Gasol. No excuses for losing this one.

And three games away from 1st. We have just as good of chance to be the number one seed really. Crazy crazy West!

Mavs should win by double digits against a depleted Lakers team. Kobe also plays much better at home.

Kobe plays on another level when it's against the mavericks no matter where it is.

Schedule light......

If the Mavs are really ready for a long run, they should win all of these save for the ones in red, of which they should take 2 of three.

Anything is possible now.

Not anymore than any other team. He had quite a few bad games against the Mavs. The good ones get remembered much more I guess. :rolleyes
