Hey guys,
We are looking for halls to host our wedding reception next May but I'm running out of ideas. I've looked all throughout TheKnot and SanAntonioWeddings.com but I'm just not seeing THE ONE. We most likely will be having it at a catholic church hall since those seem to be less expensive and we have a little bit more freedom when it comes to caterers, decorations and such.
If you know of any places or have any suggestions could you help a sister out here?
We need it to fit 300 people, and we want to provide our own caterer, and alcohol MUST be allowed :lol
Thank you!

St. George Maronite center on babcock is where we had our reception for 300+ people and it turned out good. Not sure about providing own caterer, but we had plenty of alcohol..Just an Idea and good luck.

If I ever get married again, I'd be fortunate to have 10 people show up. On the bright side, it wouldn't be very expensive. :spin

I went to a wedding that had over 900 people attend.
It felt like a concert.

What about your GF?
My brother's wedding had people in the 1200-1300 range, mostly because it was out of country.
Why is everybody telling how many people attended their weddings again?
Congrats.

Seriously ... I have no grandparents, no parents, no aunts or uncles or cousins I've talked to in the last 10 years, so my side would have: My brother, SIL, niece & nephew.
Chris is planning on making a list one day of who he'd invite ... hey, it's a start. :lol
I think even knowing that many people that you'd actually invite to your wedding is pretty damn cool. :lol

I know...for my mother being Italian, we're pretty skimpy on the relatives side.

I don't know how big it is exactly inside but how about St. Francis on De Zavala?
And Congratulations again, I know I didn't get around to posting in the original thread.
You could also check out the Omni on I10 or The Westin at La Cantera

If budget is no issue:
The Wurzbach Estate at Burmeade Oaks
http://www.wurzbachestate.com/
For a more reasonable price:
The Sky Room at the Univeristy of Incarnate Word
http://www.uiw.edu/skyroom/
A lot of people do use St. George Maronite for wedding receptions even if the wedding is elsewhere. St Luke's Catholic Church on Callaghan has a nice facility as well- nicer than just a regular parish hall. Good luck

Yeah i've looked at that one already. That's where my parents go to church...they say it could seat 300, but when I looked at it...there's absolutely no way unless you have everyone shoulder to shoulder. But the outside area of the facility is probably the prettiest I've seen so far, too bad we won't be outside all that much though! :oops

:( That sucks! It is beautiful. If you're looking in that area and you can swing methodist University United Methodist is ginourmous and absolutely beautiful. 300 can fit in there easily.

The one I like the most out of the ones we've seen is this Holy Trinity Banquet Hall (http://www.sanantonioweddings.com/advertiser_details.asp?ai=941&ctr=0) off of Huebner and Stone Oak. It looks really awesome inside and outside, but the price is a bit more than we were looking for. I'm still going to try to squeeze it out of my dad though, wish me luck!
