...and win 10 of their last 20 games, ending up with 50 wins...
...they'll still miss the playoffs. :(
Denver is on pace for 50 wins and will most likely have the tiebreaker.
It's gonna be very tough to just make the playoffs. Suns better start clicking soon and winning games, or it'll all be over.

Denver will miss the playoffs, IF Dallas managed to squeeze itself in.

Exactly, we won't be facing each other in the playoffs this year. Otherwise, it would just be a repeat of this:

Houston looks really scary for next year. I just don't think they have the juice to beat any of the top four teams this year in a playoff series.

I was tempted to say something about this quote.

Who are they going to beat? LA? San Antonio? New Orleans? Utah?
Because barring any major injuries, those are the top four seeds.

Houston without Yao, reminds me a little of Cleveland last year. LeBron can take you a good ways by himself...but, not all the way.
McGrady can take Houston a good ways, but not out of the second round. He ain't no Lebron.

Most likely, the Suns finish 8th, lose to the Lakers in the first round in 5 games or so, and immediately thereafter fire D'Antoni and Kerr.

They and New Orleans have the toughest schedules remaining. Ironically, I think if D'Antoni would get his head out of his ass and juke his up-tempo offense, they might be better geared towards playoff success with Shaq in the middle. But they might not even get there.

photo-finish.
on another note:
looking at the standings out west, seattle, minnesotta and memphis are already out of contention. but in the east, despite only having 11 wins, 2 less than memphis, still has a mathematical chance of entering the playoffs. :lol
