lol I thought it was funny... and if that was a Spurs player that did it to a Suns player, Spurs fans would be loving it. JVG is right, way too much lovey-dovey daps among players these days. Ain't nothing wrong with a little animosity long as it's left on the court. There can still be respect. Just don't need to be so damn friendly all the time.

The entire Phoenix Suns Organization is a giant fucking vagina.

No surprises here.

Duncan isn't a fool.
He's a class act.
Offering to help the asshole up was an act of sportsmanship.
Something Shaq knows nothing about.

I agree with Jamstone. No big deal here. It wasn't like he slapped Duncans hand away, he just happened to grab his teammates hands to help him up instead, who gives a shit. I also agree if Duncan had done that to shaq we would have been all over it like Duncan was hard, and how he was sending a message, besides it is not news that Shaq doesn't like or respect the spurs.

yea anyone who is been on this board consistently since 05 can back you on that. To most people it would appear that the Spurs are your second favorite team, and a close second at that.

Only thing Shaq is doing is eating the Spurs alive.

The reports of his demise are bullshit.

Spurs are lucky Stoudamire got in foul trouble or else they'd be losing.

Ginofan

It wasn't that big of a deal. A little childish but ehh, you don't want to show any weakness towards the other team in front of your teammates.

I think the spurs are lucky that stoudemire is playing like stoudemire. Stoudemire vs Spurs is the definition of fould trouble over the last few years.

Shaq is only to be pitied at this point. I hadn't watched a whole half of b-ball from him this year, but was shocked when he got the rebound RIGHT UNDER THE RIM, and the best he could do with a full jump and extension was a bunny layup off the window. Even the Shaq that arrived in Miami a couple of seasons ago was able to dunk without a runup start.

The announcers were all over the "he's a role player at this point", but the reason that people are saying it's a bad trade is that you don't pay fucking role players $20M. That's cap death, and they're stuck with his fat, no-jump ass for two more seasons.

On the flipside Nash just named Duncan as one of his fave 5 players to play with of all time. So there the ultimate sportsman just rectified Shag's not letting Tim help him up move.

I'm proud of Duncan trying to be a good sport, but don't even offer to help that asshole up. Let him sit on his fat ass until it takes 4 of his teammates to pull him off the ground. Shaq has never been classy towards the Spurs, he's not going to start now.

on another note, the Big cactus is the worst name Shaq has ever had. Might be the most fitting though since a cactus is highly immobile and retains a lot of water.

I agree is time we start seeing teams laying wood to opposing players. Bring back rivalries like the Old Piston/Bulls or Knicks/Heat. Too many hugs nowadays.

Ask Bill Laimbeer about the wonders being a big bitch can do for your career. And I'm glad Shaq didn't take Duncan's hand. I'm tired of all of this fraternization among rival teams.

To my knowledge, Tim only does this during the regular season.

Come playoffs, it's a different story.

Then again, for Shaq and the Suns, this essentially equated to a playoff game.

I didn't think it was a big deal although it was clear Shaq saw and felt Duncan's hand trying to help him out and he looked to his right, then to his left and ignored him. That was hilarious at least. There's no mistery Shaq never gave credit to the spurs, even when TD hit that shot over his ass in the 0.4 seconds game, he said "a lucky shot deserves another one". The point is I didn't think Duncan was lucky right there, but he just shot the ball as he had been doing it all his career. The fatass just got owned so he made the funny comment when Fisher stole the game right after.

Shaq gets a little sore when he losses, everybody knows that.. but the epitome of sportmanship is Duncan. I don't think we will be seeing Shaq trying to help Duncan up in the upcoming games. Fuck the message you can give to your teammates. Between players of that caliber, respect is in the order.

Who cares? If Duncan wants to be nice let him be nice, if people don't accept it on the court then that's their choice.

It is what it is. Things like this are important to Shaq. Ginobli did it once, but just because the guy fouling him was beating the crap out of him and there was nothing sincere about the hand to help him up. Everyone's different, and you find their true personalities on the court. Shaq is who he is...and so is Duncan.

I prefer Duncan.

I think it's silly considering there's really no animosity between Shaq and Duncan and that there's some symbolic pussiness if you grab an opposing players hand.

Shaq daddy is a force to be reckoned with, holmes. I know you Spurs fans have animosity towards him, but shouldn't the fact that he played high school hoops here bring a little love from the city?
