In Their Defense

"They shut down the Spurs in the final five minutes Sunday, using a 14-2 run to drop San Antonio 94-87"

What is wrong with that statement? Seems true to me.

Because it had nothing to do with the Suns D... we couldn't buy a shot.

I hope that Shaq fat ass plays 36 minute a game the rest of the year. He will suffer a stroke.

How the champs play like this, not even Dallas could finish the game like that.

I know, that's like saying Grant Hill can play 33 minutes a game! Or that somehow Steve Nash won't break down when he signs with Phoenix! Or Amare Stoudemire can actually come back from microfracture surgery. Come on, let's be realistic.

Shaq gets away with so many fouls. Dampier would never get those calls. I hate the nba.

I saw terrible shots, wishing for calls and stupid plays resulting in turnovers. The Suns' D deserves some credit for that.

Shaq forced Duncan to shoot jumpers and clogged the lane for the Spurs guards.

Per usual.

Agreed.

Early in the 4th quarter, this game looked like the Utah game on Friday (Suns play well for the 1st half, then fold in the 2nd, with a dismal 4th qtr).

This time, they actually made a few stops and didn't panic on offense. Both teams couldn't make shots they should: Spurs at 35% FG, Suns 3-14 from 3 pt and therefore, both defenses should be given credit.

It goes both ways, Shaq gets hit more than any big man in the league and the refs let it go because he's big, he can handle it.

The truth is, as big as Shaq is, it's hard to call a foul because is he holding his big fat ass space or is he fouling? Very hard to tell unless he reaches out with his arms.

It's similar to Dirk, he's such a herky jerky player that it's hard to figure out if he's flopping, initiating a foul or just plain got fouled. Every foul he gets he looks like "I'm dieing".

It's Playoff-like basketball fellas, the refs are going to let it go most of the time.
