Ruffn... you live in Australia? I was down there and might like to move for a few years for work. Are you able to easily watch NBA games? I did see a couple of games on a sports station there (Suns-Bulls on TNT earlier this year), but I wasn't sure if they had any satellite options?

Yup, Oz. Come on down! :)

As for ease of watching, BB League Pass plus other internet resources means I've missed fewer than 5 games this year.

I was in Phoenix last year to watch the Suns live, but Nash didn't play which was a pity.

Stayed near AZ State in Tempe and had fun getting drunk, although no play unfortunately...

:lmao Hey Suns fan, you have Grant Hill, Steve Nash, and Raja Bell on your team. Not to mention the Suns even have Shaq flopping against guards now :lol
Bell's a flopper ,i'll give ya that.
In reality, the SUNS will take charges when caught out of position defensively...while the SPURS are known league wide as floppers when caught out of position or beat to a spot.
Looks like the SPURS rebounding pulled this one out late.
Good win after losing 2 straight.

Boy he is MONEY, isn't he?

Here's the deal with Kurt, too, he finds the open spots on the floor. It's an uncanny ability I think he has.

Amare has a nice jumper, but he often doesn't roll off like KT does and find a good shot with space to line it up.

I'm surprised... you should have been able to clean up around there. Depends on the time of the season, I suppose because right about now, the women start gearing up for summer with some sluttiness.

I struck out in Perth, as well, but that's because I was on a business trip and didn't have too much time to venture out... also difficult considering I was with a married guy who wasn't much of a wingman.

We didn't even deserve to win this. I would say "Well I wish we would have lost so that our guys can learn something from it", but this team doesn't learn anything from any losses. They don't respond at all. You would think that they would respond well on Sunday...NOPE. You would think they would have responded well tonight after a shitty loss yesterday....NOPE. Not good. But I'll take any win at this point. Hopefully we'll get it together because it's already March...

Nice stats, but they don't describe the game I saw.

They destroyed us with penetration (it's Tim's job to stop that), and whenever he got the ball he held it too long - that resulted in a few assists to cutters, but overall was harmful to the offence. Martin can slow TD down now that he's lost his first-step quickness, and Najera also does a good job on him.

Nugs are TD's hoodoo team, but for some reason Pop runs a majority of the offence through him against them. I don't get that. It should be more pnr with passes to a rim-cutting Duncan.

No matter if the Spurs played well tonight or not, it was a good win. These gritty wins are what the playoffs are going to be about. I'd like some blowouts every once in a while, but they learn a lot in these victories.

Manu was an incredible distributor tonight and I'm glad his hip issue looks like just a hip pointer and nothing more. A lot of the role players stepped up - Bruce, KThomas, and even Bonner. Tony got banged around early with his drives (Pop was going wild on the no calls) and he still looks slower than pre-injury. But he kept driving and got two cluch baskets, plus that big assist (when he drew in 3 defenders and kicked to Thomas) in the closing 3 minutes.

Just like last night was a team loss, this one was a team win.

These next games on the road are going to be fun to watch.

At this stage in their careers? Absolutely. I'm just saying no one else got lit up like Finley did or played worse defense. Fin played only 18 minutes to JR's 28 but I bet 20 of his 22 points came during Fin's 18 minutes of playing time.

That's why you shouldn't go calling people out saying no one believed. Unless someone flat out says we're going to lose then you can have a dig at them, otherwise u can put it down to frustration cause most of us know the SPURS and what they can do. It can be hard when we know what the Spurs are capable of and they play below their standard and lose games they shouldn't.

I wanna give Parker some props too. I thought TP was great a being aggressive in the 4th and attacking the rim. I always think that Tony plays poorly when he is faced with a team that has intimidating shot blockers. He sometimes changes his game and loses confidence, but tonight TP took it to the rack in the 4th HARD. Tony keeps doing that against the tough defensive teams we'll be in great shape.

As "soft" as the Spurs were yesterday, they showed serious heart tonight. The entire team played in playoff mode. It was great to see. This game was extremely physical.

Sure, he never gives up and that's one of the things that makes him great. His help D has been poor lately though, and I don't know why. Especially during these two games against Denver he's given up a lot of layups and dunks.

You don't need to defend him against me - I recognise his greatness. But, I really think the tactics in the way we use him against Denver are wrong. We should use Duncan differently against the Nuggets, more pnr, more cutting from him. Leaving him in the post against 2 guys who play him well, and help from Camby, is playing into Denver's strength. Unless he's passing to cutters for layups all night it's a waste IMHO.

I thought the Spurs didn't play that great against Denver these last two games. I mean I still think we can play a lot better whereas Denver I'm not sure how much better they can play against us. Do you think Denver can play much better than this? Looking at their season so far I find it hard to say that.

I love close games when it comes to the spurs cause they usually pull through.

Blowouts...not so much. Our bench isn't THAT fun to watch, and I like being ignored as the favorites, makes teams less wary of the spurs.

Good win, cuz I hate seeing this Nuggets team win.

It's a shame that the Nuggets can't make the playoffs with a 37-26 :wtf

Yeah the East/West disparity is sick. A 26-37 EC team is in line to make the playoffs. :lmao

Spurs basically played three playoff games in four nights.

Denver are tough they play well against us, but I disagree with your statement.

I thought the Spurs didn't play that great against Denver these last two games. I mean I still think we can play a lot better whereas Denver I'm not sure how much better they can play against us. Do you think Denver can play much better than this? Looking at their season so far I find it hard to say that.

I agree with you that we haven't played great, but I think that's Denver drawing that out of us. They know where to attack us now, and we tend to play down to their level.

Unless the help D improves significantly, I think every game against the Nugs will be a coin toss. They have the bigs to throw at TD, their bench has finally learned to play, and otherwise average guys like Carter and Najera seem to step up against us.

Sure, if we find Juggernaut form we'll beat the Nuggets, but I'd hate to see them in the 1st round because that will be their third chance in a row to down us and they REALLY want it.

Remeber, we got very lucky on the calls tonight. Great win, but it was by no means convincing.

True, and a good point.

And the next 4 teams are all very good, so right now is a big test for us.

This is very true. And despite AI's 28 points, Tony worked very hard defending him all night.

Exactly. TP drew a charge on AI. Also there were several possessions in the 4th quarter where TP locked down AI and made him take tough fadeaway jumpers.

I didn't watch the whole game but it looked like the quality of shots that were taken by both teams down the stretch is what decided the match. KMart took a fading hook. JR took a contested 3 in the elbow and of course TP forced some tough shots and misses from AI

You contrast that with spurs: tp makes a driving layup, tp drives and dishes to a wide open Thomas. TD/Manu makes some FTs.

I didn't say no one believed.
I said this kind of game separates the bandwagon fans from the true fans.
I was addressing the ones who were saying things like "This team is done."
I said they should have some faith.

We all bitch at this team when they play below their ability.
The true fans stick around after they play bad, after they lose, and after they win.

By the time the playoffs roll around, it's gonna be like the Spurs just finished a playoff run.

This all reminds of '99. It seemed like every game, the last two months of the regular season, meant something.

I hated the los jerseys. They're crap. And who knows if the Spurs even like them outside of Manu/Oberto.

Nice win for us though. TP really needs to step up his game. Manu and Timmy cant go on playing like this every night.

Manu says he's fine but we'll see how it affects him. Also it seemed like he got hit in the mouth pretty good tonight too.

After the game, he said the injury was not serious.

"The thigh is good," he said. "One of the many you get all season long. It was higher (on the thigh), and when you get hit like that, it really hurts the first five minutes to 10 minutes. Then it kind of starts loosening up. You stretch a little bit, and it's fine."

I thought Manu wears pads these days because of all those thigh contusions he's had in the past? Did he stop wearing them?
