It's been a few years since I've built anything, but I'm building a system this weekend. What are the best places to buy parts? I know of Allgen, but other than that I'm not sure where to get good parts here in town.

Well my Rasho loving friend, I think going to Europe for parts is going a bit to far you know? I'm willing to go to the NE side, but that's it.

Altex - 281 & Brook Hollow
ACS - Bandera @ Eckert
Izzy's - Babcock @ Callaghan
Should probably price NewEgg.com anyway. Their prices are pretty good.
Also, PriceWatch.com.

I'm an AMD guy. It's been a while since I've looked at what's what, but what is it you want or do you have a price point? For a good deal and some extra money to spend on other parts, go Athlon.
I'd go with an Athlon XP+ (or a 64 if you can swing it). A few motherboards to look at.
