If the Spurs get the top seed in the West, which i think they will, who would you least prefer to see in the 1st round?

That's a tough one. I'm gonna have to go with the Warriors. Only because they have no one to really defend Duncan. And as Spurs have shown in the past 3 seasons when they've outed the Suns, the run and play style can be stopped by good defense.

Though a part of me is tempted to say Nuggets since the Spurs have gone on to win the Championship every time they've met them in the first round :)

I'm afraid of no one. I believe in Los Spurs.

Nuggets
they are immature, and a bunch of playoff chokers.
Plus they are minus one guy who killed em last year in Steve Blake.
Not worried about them one bit.

the question is who you would LEAST rather see in the 1st round... obviously the nuggets would give us a much tough, more physical 1st round. we dont want that again even if our track record is good.

I'd prefer not to see the Nuggets. As the two recent games have shown us, they are tough. The Spurs have to play all the game long. It would be physical and tiring.
That is not to say we couldn't beat them (in 5 or 6), after all, they are all kinds of immature and chokey. Nevertheless, given a choice, I'd rather see the Warriors.

On second thought I would want to see the nuggets to leave open the possibility of warriors-mavs.

:lol Whatever, that was an oddly phrased question...
I would LEAST want to see the Nuggets and would prefer to see the Warriors due to reasons I've stated previously. :p:

I'd rather face the Nuggets...by a long shot.
The Warriors are tough at home in the playoffs (see Dallas), and the Nuggets only played us well these past two games because we were on back to backs both nights.
There are no B2B in the playoffs, my friend.

I would rather see the Warriors and would least like to see the Nuggets in the first round...Denver has enough big men to give the Spurs problems and can play some tough defensive when they are into it. Also, Anthony and Iverson can get hot at anytime and take over games...The Warriors are no easy out but I think the Spurs would kill them inside and they rely too heavily on being hot on the perimeter since they have no inside game. I think the reason they beat the Mavs last year was a combination of no Mavericks inside presence and Dallas being a poor perimeter defensive team. They just gave up way too many open 3's in transition, something I don't see the Spurs doing.

I want the nuggets since they seem to be a precursor to a Spurs championship the years they have played. I would even root for the Spurs to lose game 1 of the series at home.

Except for the 1999 title run

As a Suns fan, I'd rather play the Nuggets. After seeing what the Warriors did to the Mavs in last year's playoffs, I want no part of a team whose coach knows Steve Nash better than anyone alive.

I say Warriors, but neither is a gimme. Especially in the case of Denver if Nene can get back. I don't know his status, though.

Warriors.
Warriors.
Playing Nuggets is old, I need a breath of fresh air, plus I can go to a game at Oracle.

No one wants to face this superathletic Warrior team. Nuggets would be much easier.

What a rat fuck you are, wanting your team to toss a home game in the playoffs.

I would say the Warriors are a tougher matchup. They are strong on their home court, and they have a shooter's chance. They also have Stephen Jackson, who is scary in more ways than one.

I don't see the Warriors winning 4/7 with miracles from Baron and Jack.
OTOH, the Nuggets are like that kid at the back of the class who hates you and you can feel him staring daggers into the back of your head. They want a piece of us, their bench is better than it was the last two years, and they play Timmy better than anyone. Their only question is 4th Q composure.
Given the bloodbath that is the West this year, the last thing we need is to get beaten up by them in the first round, even if we win in 6 or 7.

And you don't seem to understand the Spurs.
Last two years we've lost game 1 looking horrible, then won 4 straight.

This shouldn't even be a question. The Warriors had their fun last year against a mentally weak team.
The Warriors are giant killers. But not 4 time NBA Champ killers.
Nuggets are a pain in the ass that can kick you pretty hard if you are not ready.
Not to mention the Spurs have a Warrior Killer in the form of Matt Bonner. 12/11 son. 12/11...
