im sorry but i dont think he or KOBE should get MVP. since when does the MVP of the league need to change the core of their teams...aka CAVS(ben wallace, wally, joe smith,) o uh cause maybe the cavs sucked!!! and the FO knew they were in trouble if they didnt make a move. and dont even mention KOBE as a choice....nobody gets one of the best big men in the league for free and win this award...and dont forget he quit on his team in the summer demanded for a trade!!!
MVP should go to chris paul or hell if they keep winning TMAC.
new orleans is a very young team and they are playing in the toughest western conference in a long time. i kno its weird to say "chris paul gets an MVP before kobe or lebron" but hey it should happen!!!!!!!!
will it?
NO
but it should...hornets have a way better record than cleveland and didnt make changes to their roster been playing great all year!!!!!
Tmac should get votes if this streak continues or even if it is snapped their next game...if they keep winning like they have been why not??
LEBRON shouldnt get the award if his team has the 13th best record in the league!!!! the 13th!!!!!! yes the 13th!!!!!! the bitches wouldnt even make the playoffs if they were in the west!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how is this not a big deal when your considering giving this cunt an MVP!!!! WHAT???

I thnk Chris Paul deserves it, and it's not even close. I can see making a case for Lebron as well.
But how Kobe deserves it/will get it is a mystery. Before Gasol and after Bynum went down, Lakers were in a free-fall. So how much value do Gasol and Bynum bring more than Kobe?

LeBron and Kobe are the two most deserving this season. To think otherwise is just bias hate against either or both. Chris Paul is definitely in the conversation. T-Mac has been great lately, but should an MVP only play half a season?

I don't get it, why is Kobe a no-brainer for this award? Because his team is best in the West? Well, I don't think they would be a top 4-5 seed if they hadn't gotten Gasol and Bynum went down.
Lebron, I can see an arguement for because there isn't a single player more valuable on his own team than he is. He has virtually no help and has carried the Cavs team. But you have to take into affect the weaker conference discrepency and their record.
CP3 had the Hornets as the #1 seed in the West for more than half the season. He has them in playoff contention and has turned guys like West into all stars and Tyson Chandler into borderline all star and put Peja back on the map. Paul lifts the Hornets single handedly and has made them who they are.
Like I said Paul or Lebron I'll give you, but I don't see how Kobe can get it. I'll say he was more deserving in season's past than this season.

ok t-mac ur right half a season i can agree with that....but lebron is a great player he really is...but his team is not even in the top 10 in the league! 13th to be exact. how can you give him mvp? ya he leads the league in scoring...he can have the scoring title but if he wants mvp his team has to be in at least top 5....his team being the 13th best in the league and his team wouldnt make the playoffs in the west...no mvp im sorry....
kobe case is another joke. he bail on his team in the summer.numbers are the same as always. oh but he did recieve a midseason trade to better his team...
and oh yeah cavs made a trade too! shows how well the mvps were doin at the midway point

Didn't Kobe choke the possible game winner against the Kings. Shouldn't he be in the same boat with the other choker, Dirk?
No way Kobe gets it. If you want the MVP you have to wait until the post season to choke, "after" the MVP vote. Not before.

LeBron will have a hard time getting the MVP if the Cavs end up with a record
that stays around 13th in the league. They'll have to win at least 50 games and the Cavs will have to end up at least in the third spot in the East to have a chance. But, no one has put up the stats he's put up since Jordan. And, with his multiple amazing performances in wins, he's shown his value. And, if I'm not mistaken, LeBron missed 6 games and the Cavs lost all 6 of those games. Their record may be top 10 had he not missed those games. Look, I don't even like the Cavs but you cannot deny what LeBron has done this season.
As for Kobe, what he said or did in the off season has no bearing on whether he deserves the MVP. And, the Lakers were already a top 3 or 4 team in the West before they made the Gasol trade.
Almost every team with an MVP candidate made a mid season trade this year. Even Chris Paul got more fire power on the wing by getting Bonzi Wells. Steve Nash got Shaq. Dirk got Jason Kidd. What MVP candidate didn't get help from a mid season trade?

Hey, you take off the second and 3rd best players on any team and they don't win games. Seriously, what a dumb post.

Before the Lakers traded for Gasol, I'm pretty sure the Lakers already had like the third best record in the West behind New Orleans and Phoenix.

It doesn't matter before, after, during...the hate for Kobe is too strong with some people. He averages 35, 6, 6 and gets 45 wins and it's still not good enough given the shitty talent around him. He leads his team this year with the same crew, (Dfish is new) to the best record until Bynum goes down. Then he gets Pau and they still have the best record and he still shouldn't get it. What the fuck is wrong with people.

:lol Who's the 2nd and 3rd best player on the Cavs team that if they lose, they won't win any games? What about with the Hornets?
I actually like Kobe, the player. I just think he was more deserving in previous seasons than this season when he may actually just win it.

If that's true, answer one simple question.
With all the bullshit awards Kobe has won, why hasn't Kobe won an MVP yet?

What the hell is your point. I said you take the 2nd or 3rd on any team and they will lose games. Now the ceiling for some teams is higher than others in this regard. Look at the Cavs record this year...
Deserving or not, it's still a double standard for Kobe. This year he's played the best in his career, albeit maybe not statistically but in respect to Defense and team play he's far ahead.

Kobe is an awesome player, but I don't think he should get the MVP. MVP's are leaders of the team, and Kobe just doesn't strike me as a leader. Leaders don't say that their team sucks and demand to be traded. It's hard to follow someone like that.

Lebron is the MVP because he is all the Cavs have. They couldn't win 15 games without him.

Finally a smart poster. He's right, I didn't even think about that..Both Kobe and LeBron needed major changes to their rosters. If anything, I'd still give it to Kobe because he's at least deserved one over his career thus far. But not LeBron or Chris Paul. Or McGrady. None of those guys should ever win an MVP before Kobe. It's bad enough that Dirk got one.

You must have not watched the NBA too closely in the past then.
See MJ
Magic
Shaq
Iverson
KG
as prime examples of players scrutinizing teammates, coaches and GM's. Asking for trades etc.....

Dirk is a leader? Jason Kidd is often looked upon as a good leader. He said his team sucks and demanded a trade. As did Shaq, who has been thought of as a good leader in the past. Michael Jordan was a jerk to teammates and then quit twice on the Bulls, the second time because he didn't get his way with Phil Jackson being re-hired. How players act with respect to management and personnel decisions do not necessarily relate to how they are as leaders in practice and in games.
There are different ways to lead a team. Kobe is tough, demanding, sometimes unlikeable. But, a lot of his perceived leadership flaws are born out of his desire to win. He is an ultimate competitor. And, his fire translates into him being a jerk sometimes. If you've watched some of the Lakers games this year, he has been a good leader. He mentors the younger players and has actually been more encouraging to his teammates. I think he has improved in that regard to a better leader. That wasn't the case in previous seasons. But, I think he's much better now as a leader, despite his problems with management over the summer. And, if you think about it, how hard he was on Andrew Bynum and even Sasha Vujacic last couple seasons probably played a role in motivating those two to improve their games so much this season. Sometimes, the ends do justify the means.

didn't Lebron take the same team he had last year to the Finals? He didn't need any major changes, the org just did it because they want to keep Lebron happy. It's not like they are some great force after the trade, they are still basically a 20 win team that wins 50 games because of one player.

LeBronze is so overrated it's not even funny. First off, the reason the cavs went to the finals last was because the pistons lost. Second, LeBronze is a cheater. He took Performance Enhancing drugs at the age of 17 and hasn't stop since. Look at how easy he can draw contact and get to the rim. No one should be 6'9 260 playing like a point guard. Cheaters never prosper. He should be in the category of a barry bonds, roger clemens, marion jones and every other cheater.
