Greetings.
After 5 years, I'm finally getting full custody of my kids. They are a 10 year girl and a 12 year old boy. This is all I've wanted since their mom and I divorced.
They will be moving in this summer. We live in the NEISD and they would be going to Regency elementary and Garner Middle School. Both are extremely bright kids, with the girl being the soccer player and the boy being the pc gamer and bookworm. I was hoping to get some opinions of the KSAT program at Kruger and similar programs in the area, if you have experiences with these. My nephew attended the computer graphics program at Roosevelt and my niece is attending the Art program at Lee, but he opted out his senior year and she is opting out her junior year. I have two friends whose sons attended the program at Kruger and did/are doing extremely well. Of the three, one has graduated from Mac Arthur and is attending Trinity on a full scholarship, while of the other two, one is now at Mac Arthur and the other still attending Kruger. From all accounts in general, they love the program. I, of course, will be picking their brains as well, but haven't had the time as of yet.
This is all new to me, as I've basically been the weekend dad. I did have custody of them for about 6 months a couple of years ago while they finished their school year at Converse elementary, but that was standard stuff. We didn't have all these choices when I was a kid, so any advice you've got concerning this would be appreciated.
Thanks.
