Didn't you think that last year, too?

I would never write off the defending champions. I thought they were gassed last season and look what happened. Until they can get better and more consistent play against the contending teams in the West, let's just say I'm awfully concerned.

29 out of 30 teams are "exposed" every year so I'd say there is always that chance. :rolleyes

the west is going to be a beast with the possiblity of good teams getting knocked out early. no worries here...it is what it is and the spurs will respond accordingly. Pop hasn't even gone into the entire playbook yet.

I honestly think the Spurs have no chance of repeating at all.... but then again I didn't think they would win it last year either.....

I still have the faith. Just like last year when I recorded every game on DVD with the faith they would win it all... :smokin

The Spurs always sort of glide into the playoffs. They will be ready when the time comes. Pop is trying different things right now, but it will settle down.

I am concerned a bit about our D. I don't remember the team having to spend so much energy on D before. Age is taking a toll this year.

We just need to avoid injury.

Why do you people give up all of a sudden? Once bad loss and all of a sudden, the part is over?

As I've always said in the past/present and now the future.

WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

It was only one regular season game.

Thoughts from lottery teams mean nothing.

We need Manu and Tony to be physically 100%, and we need the shooters to find their touch. That's easier said than done, but we have a month to get it together. With the West being as loaded as it is this year, the team which peaks at the right time will win it all. I'm not concerned about HCA, regular season splits vs West contenders, PPG differential and all that.

I just want them to be healthy and in rhythm. They have all the tools, they just need to keep them sharp for when it counts.

We got beat by some pretty awful teams down the stretch last year. No shame in losing to a great team with the best PG in basketball on a night that only one of our players could hit from 3 point range.

When shots fall, a team looks a lot better than when everything clangs, regardless of all else that happens on the court.

The role players need to catch fire to have any chance. You can get 60 ppg from your big three and get creamed game after game if everyone else combines for 20. I really have no faith the rest of the cast can average much more than that at this point.

As long as Tim, Manu and Tony bring their A game and the D shows up no way. They may not win the title but they will be right there with a great shot at it again.

I'm more concerned than in past years. And I'm also going to feel a lot more disapointed I feel if they lose and don't win it this year.

The West is just too competitive and the top 2 teams in the East are also very strong contenders and could also easily win it all. You'll need a good amount of youth and energy to get out of the WC, I don't know if the Spurs have enough of it in the tank.
They have the potential to be great and go far, it's just a matter of if it the role players like Finley, Udoka, and Horry and Oberto decide to step up consistently.

It's not a matter of 'deciding'; for Finley, Horry, and Oberto, at least, it's a matter of if they physically can anymore

If the Spurs lose, it will likely be like '04 (.4) or '06 (3 point play at the buzzer). I don't see them being "exposed."

Teams that get "exposed" are usually too young, not (allegedly) too old.

History simply does not support the thesis that the Spurs will be exposed.
