SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that Ime Udoka returned to San Antonio this morning due to tarsal tunnel syndrome in his right ankle. Udoka received anti-inflammatory shots today which are designed to decrease the inflammation in the ankle.

Udoka will miss the remaining two games on the Spurs current three-game road trip. He is expected to be available when the Spurs return home to take on the Boston Celtics on Monday, March 17.

Maybe that is the reason his shots have been off.

Might as well call up one of the Toros for a 10 day.

More PT for Finley. Maybe he can get his rhythm back on again. Same thing for Bruce.

It sucks, let's hope Udoka will fully recover before the playoffs. Spurs need him especially when they go small.

Spurs should sign Julius Hodge or Desmon Farmer.
CIA Toros. :smokin

Yeah, Udoka's been pretty horrible lately. This could be a reason why.

DerMarr Johnson would be a pretty decent signing right now. A guy who can hit a jumper would be much appreciated.

wow...this may be the reason for the recent decline in his play.

And the hits just keep on coming. This isn't good on so many levels.

DeMarr Johnson

When i was in SA during New Years i saw this guy play in the game against the griz, but the thing i remember the most is watching him shoot before the game.

The guy has got A LOT of length and a smooth jumper from downtown.

I'd like this signing.

DerMarr can be counted upon to shoot threes -- not much else. But I'll take it.

I'd actually like signing Sean Banks to a 10-day to check out his potential but if the Spurs actually think the guy will get some PT, then a Toro makes the most sense.

Is this the return of Marcus Williams, bearing in hand his recent D-league player of the week award....

Damn. At least he should return for the Boston game so it's not expected to keep him out long.

Will the Spurs call someone up for 2 games?

Give Marcus another shot, hes earned it.

I wish the Spurs would give Marcus the chance but since the West is so fuckin stacked right now, the Spurs FO wouldn't give a D-Leaguer the spot of a player like Udoka.
Right now is DerMarr Johnson time.

It's been shown time and time again that the D League can't hold a candle to the NBA. Still though...

Boy could we use a healthy Brent Barry. Kori, whats the time frame on Brent and is there any updates on the health of his leg?

I rather see Spurs signing Marcus Williams than Dermarr Johnson. Johnson could be slightly better on a 10 days contract but Williams is way more interesting in the long term.

I think the Toros' attempted Gadson-for-Josh-Gross trade may have hinted at a Spurs' plan to call up Marcus soon. With Ian hobbled and Serge not playing at all last night, the Toros are really hurting for big men. They are doing very well to stay close in these games against a vastly improved Albuquerque squad playing small ball.

BTW -- word is the T-Birds are still trying to get Gadson in a trade. Apparently Jeff Ruland is crazy about the guy. in a perfect world, the Toros would get Julius Hodge back so he could replace a called-up Williams -- but someone like Jamaal Thomas is more realistic.
