Considering the source where i got the info on the launch, whoever owns the BEAT probably owns this. Their promos are saying no commercial and no talk, based on just the music it's mostly modern rock, but i've only heard an hour

No, not using R&R, I've seen the actual trends (granted, the trends should be taken witha grain of salt anyway because after all, they ARE just trends)...but after looking at R&R, their numbers are correct, they just haven't updated the format for KZDC.

FM radio in general sucks. Even satellite radio has turned into FM with an extended playlist. There is a problem with radio when my ipod has 30 times as many songs played on any FM radio station

After a listening for a while this afternoon, that's exactly what it is unfortunately.......a KISS replica. Maybe they do play some newer songs than kiss does but the old fuckin rock is still in there mixed in . So no, it isn't like 101x in austin which is modern rock. From what I heard from someone who works at Univision, the station will continue to be commercial free until the next ratings come out and if there's a good followership they will interview DJs. So it should probably be awhile before there's commercials. The reception comes and goes for me also but I prefer listening to 97.7 instead of KISS, especially in the morning, I like to listen to music instead of hearing lisle/hahn talking.
