Right now they are playing like the 6th best team in the west, and with Manu being finished it looks like Spurs in 04 (TD being the 1 man team)

but no way the Spurs can win 4 straight series on the road

we're totaly over, throw in the towel and blow up the team. I cant believe they lost by 4 to the second best team in the league without they're all-star defender. they're pathetic.

It's going to be tough for any team to win 4 straight series on the road.

Yeah you're right. The Spurs should just give up. Fuck it.

Manu needs at least 2-3 weeks to recover, only way the Spurs win the title is if he plays like he did during the win streak PERIOD

I get really tired of your assumptions and convoluted logic PERIOD

Its possible the spurs can win 4 series on the road. The rockets did it in '95 against more experienced foes ala Stockton-Malones jazz, Barkley's suns, Robinson's spurs, Shaq-Penny magic. The whole entire west lacks playoff experience except for the mavs and the suns. I really don't think the spurs are as bad as previous defending champs that failed to repeat ala Pistons in '91 or lakers in '03. Those teams realy did age and it was clear throughout the whole entire year they were going down.

In the spurs case I think they have had a series of bad luck with injuries, suspensions, chemistry with the trade, fatigue. They just have to go into the playoffs healthy and not worry about the seeding. I think if they are well rested and healthy no team will want to play them in round 1. You better believe Duncan and co win or lose will give all the have in the tank. Its going to be hell for any team that has to play the spurs in the playoffs.

The doom and gloom is complete.

So does this mean we can finally move foward and start winning some games.

Ho hum. Spurs fans are so predictable. The Sixers are not going to keel over and play dead tonight. I can see the wailing on this forum tomorrow. I think I'll stay away.

Hmmm...let's see now...

1999 Finals: Spurs defeat Knicks in 5 games

2003 Finals: Spurs defeat Nets in 6 games

2005 Finals: Spurs defeat Pistons in 7 games

2007 Finals: Spurs defeat Cavaliers in 4 games

So...the Spurs are 4-0 in the Finals, winning in 4, 5, 6, and 7 games. They had HCA in all four. The only thing SA hasn't done is win the title without HCA...maybe this is the year they do that, too! :hat

Not only would they repeat, they would repeat on the road...

GO SPURS DYNASTY GO!!! :toast

I'm more interested to see how the Spurs look in April, after this brutal schedule, with Manu able to get a little rest between games, and hopefully with a healthy Brent Barry back and signed with the team.

If the Spurs still suck, then you can write them off :)

Where are you getting 4 road series in a row? Utah has the 4th seed, but that's only for matchups. The team with the better record or tiebreaker always gets home court advantage, regardless of seed. The LAC, as a #6 seed, had HCA over the #3 seed two years ago. Because of the rule changes that the 3 division winners only get into the top 4, instead of automatic top 3 spots, we may not see that again, but the 5 having HCA over the 4 is in play right now.

I can't imagine the trolls and threads there will be if we don't repeat.

I can really, just don't want to.

Less of a factor in the conference playoffs. In the finals it can loom pretty large because you have to play the last two on the road and winning game 7's on other peoples turf can be challenging. In the semi's you've got a good chance of taking care of biz in 6 if you can steal a game on the road.

Nobody has more Championship experience than the core group of the Spurs.

I'm not the least bit concerned about home court.
Do I prefer it? Of course.
But they can win without it.

Spurs may be able to win without HCA. But spurs having HCA is big blow to the opponent's confidence. So Spurs will lose its advantage. The opponents will gain some confidence that might turn against Spurs. I feel that it is really a big deal to have HC.

If spurs does not have HCA, all we have to do is to win one of first two games in the series. If Spurs do not do it, they are done.
