This is not a bonner-man love thread. I just want to know if anyone out there has some stats on Bonner +/- compared to other bigs, playingh time, things like that. He seems to have been productive since he started getting playing time again. I honestly wonder why we dont see more of him. what do ya'll think? And please be objective (im talking to you bonnerdynasty.)

ok, man-love all you want. i jsut wanted some objective views as to why he's not playing more. he's got energy, a decent jump shot, aggresive on the glass. yeah he makes mistakes (cathing a pass out of bounds) but so does horry and oberto.

oops, i think i just man-loved him myself.

The only thing I can think of is that Pop thinks his energy is better in small doses. Bring him in to change the momentum then go with his favorite lineups again.

I have no clue why Pop won't play Bonner. It's not like he could do any worse then Horry or Oberto. Plus he's a better shooter than Oberto. I think Pop is jealous of him and his manly aura.

For whatever reason, Bonner has been in Pops famous "doghouse" for quite some time now.

Time for Pop to grow up, quit acting like a damn child, and forget his damn doghouse and put the best players he has on the floor.

EDIT: Let me add. That famous "doghouse" is also the reason we have Damon as a backup point guard instead of Beno. Give you three guesses as to which one performs better.

I suppose Pop is trying his best to ruin Bonner too.

Pop does not think about basketaball or the Spurs the way the fans do. He operates on a whole other level. Its not like hes playing playstation here. As much as I don't understand what he's doing a lot of the times, I have total faith in him. Even in 06 when he was taking all the heat for going small against Dallas, I had faith in him, and it was 30 seconds away from working.
Pop knows what he's doing and the day will soon come again when we all sing his praise as he sips from another glass of '67 Romanee Conti.

I'm not the HUGEST Bonner fan.

That being said, less Oberto, more Bonner and Kurt Thomas would've helped a bunch last night. I don't know WTF Oberto's problem is.

Bonner has helped this team get back into games the entire season! I don't know what it is but this is a trend throughout the season.

I still don't think Bonner is in the doghouse. He is just behind bigs that are better than him.

Although that argument for Horry is pretty slim imfo. Horry has 10000x better defense but he still looks like he doesn't give a damn.

the 5 man unit of parker-ginobili-bowen-bonner-duncan has played together for 53 minutes this year, and in that time, has outscored the opponent by 51 points. that's almost a point a minute, replace bonner in that lineup and see what happens:

Oberto = + 8 in 128 minutes
Finley = + 5 in 108 minutes
Thomas = +29 in 75 minutes
Elson. = + 4 in 50 minutes
Horry. = - 5 in 48 minutes
Barry. = + 3 in 26 minutes

BONNER WINS!!!!

I think Bonner sucks, but he needs to get more time on the floor. This team badly needs energy. They have no hunger, they have no spark. Bonner can help.

At this point, I think our losses have been a combination of fatigue and poor coaching.

Bonner defense has been awful in stretches. That's pretty much all you need to get in Pop's doghouse unless you're an old veteran.
