The Spurs are fine, there is no need to panic.
;)
They are currently tied for 7th in the WC.

No way. The Spurs are a championship, veteran team. I'd like to see them get homecourt at least in the first round, but other than that, I'm not worried. I'm annoyed at them for the way they're losing of late, but not worried. In fact, I still pick them to win the championship. If they don't, then maybe next year. Life continues!

Depends on what thread you're reading.
Spurs fans are all over the place at this moment.
I'm not panicked, nor am I thinking about next year.
I'm waiting to see how 2 days off agrees with them and gives them a little time to regroup. Then I'll watch them Thursday.
I believe in this team and I'm confidant that they'll make the Playoffs.
From there my confidance will only grow.
This team is made for the post season.
And Duncan will come out to play.
I know this is a sin...
but is it time to consider the future and move on to a "post Duncan era?"
You could do so much for the future of this franchise if you reloaded by trading him.

It won't happen.
Duncan will only play for the Spurs, and he will retire a Spur.
I know there's no such thing as "loyalty" in business, but this is one of those things I'm confidant about.

There is nothing wrong with Duncan. He still has his step. He did great yesterday. He had 3 monster blocks to go with the rest of his numbers.
They did not pass him the ball for much of the game. I don't understand, feed him the ball 99% of the time and we would be better off
There is nothing wrong with Duncan. He still has his step.
Of course he does........now
But why not trade him while he still does?

Don't be crazy. What the Spurs need are the next 3 days off!
They are tired and need a little rest. Not having a game until Thursday will certainly help the older guys. Next week is another tough week so i would have my guys get some rest and just have light shoot around practices.
All the Spurs need to do is get at least a 7th seed for the Playoffs. Avoiding the 1 seed and the 4/5 seed is preferrable. Other than that the Spurs have just a good a chance as any other team once the Playoffs start.
54 wins should get them in the top 7.

These guys need rest. I was satisfied wiht last night's game ,minus the last 3 or 4 possessions of the game, and thought our effort was as good as we have seen all year. My thought about the post season is that if we get in we'll be alright... I still like our chances against anyone in the league in a 7 game series..

For a half of basketball last night, we absolutely destroyed the "best" team in basketball. We made them look like a D-league team. If the Spurs even make half an effort in the 3rd, we win that game.
If the Spurs play LIKE THEY ARE CAPABLE of, we can win it all again.
If they play like they did last night, well, no need to panic, because we aren't winning anything anyway, right?
Right?

Yep and yep...I would sit everyone with "injuries" and start getting my ping pong balls ready for the lottery. Getting the 6-8th seed in the playoffs and getting bumped out of the first round will not help this team next year, better to do something that will....

If he does go there he will want to trade Duncan. That's for sure.

You aren't going to get anything of signifigant value for him other than draft picks and you're certainly not going to get Dwight Howard. That's and LSD inspired pipe dream.

lol I think the Western Conference teams all pretty much know about JVG now. If he gets a job it'll be to the Eastern Conference.

What is there to explain? What makes you think in your wildest dreams that the Magic would trade one of the best big men in the game with the world in front of him for someone on the downside of his illustrious career? It lacks common sense.

Stop it. Other teams are also tired. Boston was on the road. What would happen if you told your boss you can't do your job well because you were tired and needed a couple of days off?

I don't know if Nugs can win and Spurs can lose enough for SA to drop out of the playoffs. The next handful of Spurs opponents aren't that great, so should regain their footing.

The Spurs are NOT going to win (im pulling a Sean Elliott) based on the lack of energy passion and poise ...I saw down the stretch ...
Honestly though the Spurs have not repeated before and this season's performance in a MUCH improved Western Conference and you think they will win?! Honestly?
Look i love the Lakers but all the injuries does not bode well for us but at least I can admit that anyting we do past the first round is a bonus ...next year is our year i just plan to enjoy the playoffs ...

efforts are only a moral victory, final score counts. That doesn't mean we ought forget about all those golden years, but ... it is time to create a new team around TP, leave all those grandphas behind, hung their numbers and go on.

Yes, they can win, and as easily as any of the other 9 WC contenders.
This season is an abberation in the WC, historical in that all 9 contenders are relatively equal i.e. very little difference between #1 down to #9. Unfortunately only 8 can advance to the PO, so one team is lottery bound.
I would be very very surprised if that team were the Spurs considering their history.
As long as the Spurs are healthy and begin playing "team" oriented basketball on both ends of the court when the PO start, I don't see another team out there among the other 7 remaining WC contenders who can prevail over the Spurs Vets in a 7 game series.
None!
I'll take the Spurs "old men" anytime under those conditions.
Go Old Men Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the board, i suggested that trade over a month ago and got blasted by all the Spurs fans who said Timmy was untouchable and it was sacralige and he will retire as a Spur.
Well all that is fine and good. And if you are happy with 4 Championships that that is cool. I would kill for just one!
But if you want to win 4 more in the next 10 years then you gotta think BIG!
The Yankees trade away great players every year just before they start to decline and they "reload" That's why they are always a threat.
Now having said all that, i think that Timmy probably has a no trade clause?
But just imagine Dwight Howard scoring 20 points and grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking 4 shots every single night! Not bad, Not bad!

On Evan's comment...trading Duncan would be wrong...but manu has exploded this season and if san antonio misses the playoffs this year I think they should unload on him in a trade or possibly Parker...what has that little turd done this year. I know he was injured.
