I don't care what people say, Avery is not a bad coach at all. Does he have more to learn? Of course. No coaches (especially as young as him) can just waltz into a head coaching position with minimal to no previous coaching experience, and be expected to start winning championships. But he has a great foundation to be a great coach for a long time in this league.

Avery is a horrible coach. Some of his in-game decisions are just horrible. Overplaying Stackhouse, going small ball, having Howard inbounds a pass on the last possession, and etc are just killers. I don't blame the team for last nights loss. I blame Avery.

Some decisions are horrible. I agree. He has been outcoached in the past, I agree. But let's not forget that he also outcoached the best coach in the NBA in Gregg Popovich as well to win a playoff series. Obviously he knows a thing or two about basketball, as no other coach has truly outcoached Pop in a playoff series during his elite years.
He is young. He needs time. But so far, he has done some great things as a coach and is still better than most coaches in the NBA right now. Especially when you consider all factors, he has done a pretty good job.

we dont have time. dirk has a few more prime years and Kidd probably has 2....the glory years of the mavs have been wasted by a young inexperienced coach

Oh I agree on that too. But despite Avery's flaws, they are capable of winning a title. They were just 2 games away a few years back in a very controversial playoff series. I think they are still capable.

Why can't Avery just go away? Can't Mark Cuban see that Avery is a total dipshit?
