are in for a MAJOR letdown. You can right that wave of momentum and testosterone until the streak is done, then reality sets in and the earth is rapidly approaching, plus they won't have pansy teams to beat up on. I'm not going to say they are going to lose 7 or 8 in a row, but I can see a definite bad spell to continue for them. It doesn't help that only 5 of their last 14 are at home, and one of those is Phx.

I can easily see a 4-10/5-9 type finish for them.

Their defense is still good from what I've seen but they struggle so much on offense to get good looks it's going to be difficult for them to win on the road against good teams. Once those 3's stop falling, which happened tonight, they will come right back down to earth. It was fun seeing Alston and Paul go at it though, two hotheads.

the defenses have adjusted to the rockets finally. it is now up to adelman to change things up. the hornets took the celts defensive model and didn't all the rockets any good 3's in the 2nd half. in fact i don't think we have taken a good 3 in 2 games. we are still good defensively but we need to adjust to the way defenses are playing us.

secondly, WE NEED LANDRY BACK! we are simply giving up too much on the offensive end with goddamn hayes out there. who knows what would have happened but i am pretty sure this game would not have got out of control like it did if we had landry out there.

rockets are good but making the playoffs without YAO should be considered a successful season ...
People that thought they were top of the league material were delusional

They won. Good to have Carl Landry back. In just 19 minutes, he gives the Rockets 17 points and 8 rebounds.

With Yao gone, yeah he is, but with when Yao is there, I like Landry off the bench. He provides good energy off the bench.

Nice. Gives the Spurs more cushion to fall back on and stay in the playoffs.

I wouldn't go that far yet. Scola can create underneath unlike Landry. Scolas post moves remind me alot of Kevin McHale back in the day. Very very similar. Scola had a bad game tonight, but meh...he's been rock solid. He just really needs to work on a J, and throwing down underneath.

Landry is a product of TMac. Landry gets alot of open looks rolling to the hoop as TMac draws the double in a penetration. Landry isn't chop liver, but he has very little post up game.

I think another year or two and they both are going to be great compliments to each other. Scola is the better passer, has the better post up game, plays great hustle game securing alot of offensive boards, while Landry is a great cleanup man, fantastic finisher, and has a better J.

if we are able to somehow beat phoenix tomorrow then he will be the reason. i hope we can surpass my 1-2 expectation in this thread.

Even with a semi healthy Landry, Rox are going to have problems across the board with the Suns. Shaq and Amare are going to eat up Scola, Landry, Hayes. Also, Rafer is not going to be able to stop the top of the key set plays from Steve Nash. Its going to take TMac getting out of his funk and start dominating. If we can get the Suns to fall in love with the J, crowd the middle then maybe the Rox might have a shot.

awesome to see the Dubs go down. Nuggets and Warriors have 2 games against each so they will likely be the biggest games of the season for both teams

Wow.... being an owner of NBA League pass... there is definitelt a VERY noticeable difference between the rockets with Landry and the rockets without him.

The offense flows SO much better when he is playing... and I can't quite figure out why.. I think they 2 game losing streak has more to do with Landry being hurt than anything.

I'm not saying the Rockets would have won the previous two games if Landry was playing.. because they both ended up being blowouts in the 4th... but I think the games certainly would have been close.

because Landry is the only guy above 6'9" who can finish around the basket and hit his FTs consistently

i think we still get worked by the celts but we at least keep the nola game close. hayes killed us in the nola game. probably a 15-20 point swing between what hayes cost us in points and what landry would have scored if he played.

I'm not and was never impressed by Houston's play. They're just shooting a couple of hoops here and there.

They couldn't beat Boston.

Hoping they drop low enough to face Spurs in first round. I think Spurs will be 3rd so hopefully it all works out for us.
