KU, A&M, KSU all win with various degrees of impressiveness.

BU laid a bit of an egg. They brought the same level of defense that they played down the stretch and Purdue burned them.

Tomorrow - Boomer Sooner & Hook 'em Horns.

Go 5-1 in the first round.

Both should win. I'm pulling for both teams to do well in the tourney, and I think Texas has just about the best road possible. All that's left is to see what they've got.

OU is the underdog in Las Vegas. Let that sink in.

i give the backcourt edge to SJ for sure, which is often the recipe for an upset (using OU as the higher seed favorite regardless of Vegas).

However, I just don't see how SJ can keep Griffin in check. I'd expect him to have a field day in the paint and on the glass.

Baylor was already at a disadvantage because of their lack of an inside-game, but add to that the complete lack of momentum with which they entered the tourney, and it wasn't surprising to see them lay an egg.

The Bears should be able to add some size and length over the next two seasons to fill out their roster. If they succeed in doing that, they have a much better chance for a deep tourney run.

This year, it just wasn't in the cards....but I'm just happy they got there.

I thought BU could pull it off PT; I had them winning. I really think they have reached about as high as they can go, however. I'm not sure I see Drew sticking around too much longer.

Now that Jim says that, im putting all my money on St Johns...

that would be a bad move since St. Johns is not in the tourney.

I think you mean St. Joseph's. :)

Baylor shouldn't even have been in the tourney. Their performance wasn't surprising.

Howabout day 1? Only two wins by lower seeds over higher seeds were by B12 schools (KSU over USC, A&M over BYU). Nice.

5-1 first round, pretty impressive.

Looking ahead to the weekend:

KU vs. UNLV
KSU vs. Wisconsin
Texas vs. Miami
OU vs. Louisville (Likely)
A&M vs. UCLA

Texas & KU should be relatively heavy favorites.
OU & KSU are both capable of advancing if they play well.
A&M is going to have their hands full - they need their shooters to be out in full force.
