i know what lots of yall are gonna say...but i drove it...and i've read a ton of reviews and talked to ppl that own one and they all have nothing but positive things to say about it. it's a.....Hyundai. yes that's right....2007 Sonata with everythng but leather. they've really turned the corner as far as quality goes. it's a nice looking car...it fit all my requirements and had a killer warranty (remainder of 5yr/60k miles). it has 10k miles on it and blue book has it at retail for $17.4K....i got it for $13.5k.

We have a Sonata sitting in the driveway right now--it's a rental that we used for Spring Break, and I love that car! It is such a nice-driving car--I swear it's like a luxury car, and people can laugh all they want. If I were in the market for a new vehicle, that is what I would buy.

I'm surprised at how well these things are made. It's an SE, has shift-tronic, V6-235hp, MP3 CD changer, safety features galore, moonroof, all the bells n whistles. I've never been in one, but I'm really impressed so far. I've driven accords before and this is really close. Anyways...thanks yall. I appreciate it.

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent, nice car.
Hyundai has had a hard time getting over the perception of being junk, due to the cars they used to make, and people expected more, even though they were only just cars nothing special. They have come a long way since the '80s.

My 01 hyundai elantra is still cranking along... I have 95k miles on it and I'm honestly hoping it dies to give me an excuse to buy a new car but the thing just keeps on ticking along. Guy in hyundai maintenance told me 6 months ago or so that there is nothing that is in bad shape and the thing should last another 100k no problem :depressed

nvm i read the entire post so...

If you have any trouble with it dude, take my advice.. my family are car people.. dad runs a shop and half the crap he works on is a Kia or a Hyundai. They are crap cars, bottom of the line. (no offense)

13k for that, was for the v6, nothing else dude. If you would have settled for a regular you coulda saved around 4-5K. You paid a few thousand for that v6 alone.

Anyhow what I originally said was, if you have any trouble out of that thing dude... take it back. Cut your losses and invest in a car that doesn't have a laundry list of bad news.

No offense, I don't mean to get on your nerves. I see more 04-07 Sonata's more than I do my penis in a day.

Your fuel pump or transmission is the first to go. Hyundai's are odd. One will run 200k the other will fart a brick at 20k.

Be careful.

Do not invest money in fixing this car, and if it farts get rid of it.

Hahaha, we'll see if you are still rollin' them eyes when gas is $5 a gallon or more. :lol

You may get "ran" more when you're sitting on the side of the road going :wtf

No offense--I understand your right to a big vehicle, and I honestly don't care what you drive. I just wouldn't be happy myself when I pulled up to the pump in a 16mpg vehicle in this town. Everything is 16 miles away, at least. :lol At $5 a gallon, I'd be spending $10 a day just to get back and forth to work.

I'm old fashioned 23yo. I hate these little vroom cars. I like big ole 350s, 305 Chevy's...hell I love the rawr.

But tbh, I am getting rid of it soon. Going for a Yaris hatchback. By 2020 believe me or not, there will be laws limiting those old gas guzzlers.

Gunna get it Razorback red, (cardinal), and probably not those fancy wheels and brakes though.

I like the 350's also, I have a Vortec in my 2dr Tahoe and in my 72 K5 Blazer, I just don't drive the Tahoe much these days and the Blazer needs work. This car is for the wife and for family outings because it gets decent mileage and it's safety features. In a year or so when I go looking for a car, I'll definitely be something 2dr and sporty....hopefully anyways.

Hyundai's are a lot better than what Brutalis would have you believe. Just take a look at Consumer Reports and you will see that. I was debating getting a Santa Fe vs a FJ Cruiser.

Brutalis

Consumer reports?

Are you serious?

Do you believe everything the news reports as well?

I guess we're supposed to believe a small shop in Arkansas over Consumer Reports, huh?

Brutalis

No but nice sarcasm.

There's no point arguing what is the worst quality of car over the last 10-20 years. Any certified ASE mechanic will tell you. Call around find out for yourself.

Consumer reports or ASE mechanics? The ladder. CR mainly focus on how cool the bucket seats are, or how it goes this fast, or how neat the specs are. Not how they break down. Just saying.

He is a designer guy, like Tommy H and Calvin K, couldn't spell either of those last names if I tried.

Ford has been known to use marketing gimicks like that to give rich people the idea they're actually buying a fashionable car or some crap. No offense btw they are nice trucks.

the last 10-20 years....sure i'll buy that...but not the last 2-3...they've really turned things around and i'm basing this off several reviews both professionally and personally. so....yeah...i'll buy what ALL of these people are saying over a 2-bit mom-n-pop white trash mechanic shop. just sayin'.....

my ride 'trigger' aka a 93 lumina, is at about 215K...and my mechanic doesn't want to work on her no more cuz he says she's falling apart, but i told him that we are part of team 300 and i'll be damned if i'm gonna let him quit on us now...i gotta make it to 2010 with that car... :wakeup

It takes me about $30 to fill up my 2004 VW Jetta GLS with about 56,000 miles on it. I've put about 1,500 on it since I bought it in October and I still love it.

New cars are awesome, even if they are used. :)

What's the other half?
Read this before and got some stats for ya. I asked one of their runners to tally up some rough numbers on 2007. He said these were about 80% accurate cause he couldn't come up with some records. The shop is very, well, poorly ran.

14% Kia
10% Hyundai
10% Ford
9% Dodge
9% GM
6% Nissan
5% Honda
4% Toyota

The other 33% are Lexus, BMW, Mitsu, Mazda, Suzuki, Acura, MBenz, Subaru, VW, Volvo, Infiniti, Isuzu, Saab, Saturn, etc which is also subjective cause a couple of them is owned by above.

GMC, Chevy, Caddy, are listed with GM he said. Dunno about Oldsmobile.

I assume Pontiac and Chrysler he forgot or rather included them with Dodge and didn't say anything. I think that's the case but not sure. Oh and Plymouth.

Same deal with Buick and Lincoln for Ford.

I'm probably leaving something out, I don't have the sheet with me. But it got me really curious to know cause of my speculations. I wrote this from memory too but I am pretty positive on the percentages. And it's all subjective cause some other dude did it and didn't sound 100% at all.

But he did say they see more Kia and Hyundai than anything without me saying anything at all. It's because here in Arkansas those cars dominate the roads maybe too.

I got a 07 Santa Fe awhile back and I absolutely love it. Nice interior and just an overall good look to it. Hyundai's started making themselves some decent rides.
