Anyone see any good movies lately they would recommend others renting?

I just rented the movie Awake with Jessica Alba...it was pretty good. A little freaky at times.

If you're looking for something different, try "Across The Universe."

The majority of the dialogue is Beatles music sung by the actors. The storyline mirrors major events of the Sixties.

I'm a Beatles freak, so I'm biased, but I'm told by non-Beatles fans that the movie is good on its own merits.

Crank the volume. The music rocks.

Bono sings "I Am The Walrus" almost better than the original. And Joe Cocker rocks on "Come Together."

BTW, the lead actress in the film, Evan Rachel Wood, is Marilyn Manson's girlfriend.

Dead Man's Shoes

It's a little hard to understand the English actors, but it's a great 'revenge thriller.'

We watched August Rush last night, and besides it being a little far-fetched, it was a sweet movie.

Gone baby Gone was great. The Mist was suprisingly good but be prepared for a pretty bad ending. All the Best picture noms are worth watching.

Damn Shoogar, we just can't help ourselves with HBO shows. John Adams' first 2 episodes were great. Almost made me forget about The Wire being gone. ALMOST

The Mist was good for a horror movie man. You don't expect it to be picture of the year material but it was a solid movie. The ending was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad though.

NO way man, the movie wasn't really even about the mist though. 60% of it was about that crazy religious lady. It was really slow and I was bored as shit. Then when they said what caused the mist, I rolled my eyes in disgust. The end was the best part but I didnt want to wait 2 hours to see it. I guess I loved the twist at the end.

Eastern Promises was a bad ass movie
Except for the nude male fight scen, I would agree.
Bone Baby Gone was the shit, Lehane is a tremendous story teller and i was really surprised at how well both Affleck brothers did their jobs in the film.
If anyone likes horror movies, and I mean like real horror movies without cgi, good acting, or a good story, check Hatchet out, gore hounds will love it. You will never see people die in a more gruesome way.The Proposition with Guy Pierce and Ray Winstone is also a very good movie that I recently purchased, if your into westerns.

Man I thought that scene was bad ass. I mean, it was a little uncomfortable to have Viggo Mortensen's cock flopping around while he's kicking people's asses, but that was a great fight scene.

I agree, just shows intense one would be if you got stabbed in a steam room. Yeah it sucked seeing Viggo's cock flying around but it was an intense fight scene.

This one's great even if you don't like westerns. Guy Pearce is extremely underrated as an actor.

Into the Wild sucked.

I didn't think Into the Wild sucked, but I also didn't think it was as great as a lot of people seem to think. I thought that in terms of actual filmmaking, it was very good, but... I've just never found the idea of leaving your family behind to become one with the wilderness to be particularly romantic or noble, so I think I was a bit biased going in.
