Again I ask, how the heck was Avery Johnson allowed to come ALL THE WAY OVER to where the incident took place by the Spurs bench on the floor without getting ejected?! Doesn't that rule that the players can't leave the bench also apply to the coach?

March 20, 2005.
In Detroit, less than 2 minutes into the game.
Took Duncan out for 2 weeks.

He went down on the same ankle again in the Seattle series that season.

Just like the rest of the Mavericks.

exactly. and there's nothing wrong with what manu did.

In a game like that there is nothing wrong with that. That is why the Stack foul should not be as big of a deal as big as people make it. You have to realize that the Mavs are barely on the edge and that they are facing there biggest rival. You know something like that was going to happen.

Oh shit i'm a dumbass for daring to disagree with you shotty basketball knowledge. So why again did Manu deserve what he got again? Did he dare to block out? Please explain.

What I said was stupid because I don't know you. You are acting like a dumbass as of right now because you don't even listen to what I say. Stack only threw him to the ground, he never got the opportunity to punch Manu. So all Stack did was throw him. In a big game that can happen, especially when you are losing. Manu did not really deserve it, but when you get some calls to go your way it can encourage a player to play dirty.

I'm not saying what Stack did was right, if anything he fell into Manu's trap of losing his cool by being goaded into a response. Of course I'm going to dispute the idea that Stack is nothing but a thug and Manu is a saint. I know it won't make any difference, but I'll make a post for the sake of preserving accuracy for posterity.
Who was the player again that Shithouse went after when the guy was getting on his team's bus and punched him out. Shithouse is a thug and plays like one. He gets beat out on a play and acts like a punk, this was nowhere near the first time. And he's a retard with the IQ of a plant to boot.

Ginobili is just one of those players that if he's not on your team, he annoys the fuck out of you. Every team has one. Ginobili is a great player and I wouldn't trade him for anybody in the league. He does flop but I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, but it's still above average.

On the Stackhouse play, he boxed Stackhouse out and Stackhouse responded by grabbing Ginobili by the neck and dragging him to the ground. Manu had nothing to do with that at all, that was a dirty play by Stackhouse (big surprise there!).

Same with Manu. People jumped me when I said that I could understand why Stack went after Manu.

Rip is being very inconsistent. He used to arguably the most consistant player the last few years (He would always give you 3-4 assists, boards, 20 points, and 45+%) Here is an article on it, but I bet you don't want to read it. He has also been very inconsistent emotionally. He has more techs than Sheed.

I'm gonna be completely honest here...i dont think stackhouse really did anything that warrants this much attention to the situation. I love the Spurs, i love Manu ...blah blah blah...

but if you can watch that video and not have some sort of feeling that manu caused the contact just as much as Stack did then you're a homer...plain and simple.

Manu throws himself around and tries to CREATE fouls on both ends of the floor...these type of things are going to happen...i dont see why it's such a big deal. I dont like Stackhouse...but he's not a thug.

Don't remind me. He always loses in game 6 of the Conference Finals. I have no idea why but that's how he rolls. It's not just in Detroit. It happened in Minnesota when the Pistons won the title.

Well the good news, if the Pistons play the Celtics in the ECFs, is Doc Rivers isn't an NBA mastermind like Pop, Jackson, or Brown. The bad news is your coach would still be Flip Saunders :lol

I don't get all this talk about Manu's flopping...What does this have to do with Stackhouse holding his hand on Manu's face and neck while he's on the floor and unable to protect himself...so much so that KT has to pull Stack away from him...

Everyone is discussing this particular case...It's not a question of whether Manu flops or not...It's an extremely dirty play. Anyone with eyes saw that Manu was bleeding after it...his mouth or teeth were in blood. Stack was holding him down...

That's the big issue...flopping has nothing to do with this...It does not matter WHY Stack did what he did...what matters is that he lost his cool and tried to hurt another player intentionally. That's a suspension. It would be only fair for the league to suspend him...otherwise they would be endorsing this type of thuggish behavior in the NBA.

Flip "Neck Stretch" Saunders is never going to win shit. Terrible hire for that team.

who thinks van gundy should be a great fit for the pistons?

:madrun That's what I thought when we faced the Cavs. I was like "Mike Brown this is going to be so damn easy. Flip won't be outcoached this time. But he did. It wasn't only LeBron. Mike Brown, the youngest coach in the league, killed Flip.

I brought that up once too.

I actually like Hamilton, except when he is playing the Spurs. That's when he pisses me off. But other than that I really like his game, his midranger is sick.

:lol Rip's on my favorite team, but there are times when I wanna knock some sense into him. Particularly on days when he thinks he's Kobe and tries to take people one on one.

Bright side would be he'd be gone the following season. I don't want the team to lose just to ditch Flip, though.

Yeah, true. I think they have a very good chance to beat the Celtics. I wouldn't give up just because Flip is the coach. The Pistons will win at least 2 games against them for sure.

I do to. If he doesn't make the Finals I think it is a guarantee. If he makes it but loses it could or could not happen. I want to have a Spurs vs Pistons Finals again, but I think any other team would be easier so I kind of don't. I shouldn't talk about the Finals though because I thought the Pistons were going to easily to make the Finals last year.

Key is Sheed and Tayshaun. Billups and Rip are always scoring. Our forwards are versatile and can provide a lot of intangibles, but they are so good offensively. More often than not they don't play to there best offense though. It sucks.

You know Sheed will be ready to play, especially against Garnett. Prince needs to really step up his defense 2004 style against Pierce.

If Dumars decides to completely revamp the team, sure. All our young players are good eggs. If he doesn't..maybe not. I don't know how this current Pistons squad will take having a coach who demands perfection and yells at them like LB used to.

Dice needs to get hot. He was so motivated last year that he would make so many shots in the playoffs. Hopefully that happens against because he has been ice cold for 4-5 months. Every time he shoots the ball I think it is going to miss. He was money earlier in the season.

Yeah, a lot is going to depend on how the Pistons can come together at that point in time. They probably have the best chance to beat the Celtics so good luck, I really hope they do. I want a 2005 rematch but if the Spurs can't make it to the Finals I hope the Pistons win it all.

That's what made Chauncey the best playoff PG when LB was here. Everyone would overlook Chauncey in the regular season, but he was amazing in the playoffs. Someone needs to hold Chauncey back a little bit. Instead of shooting a 3 post up a guy, things like that.

Chauncey is the least of our worries I think. I'm more worried about Rip.

When JVG says he always wished they would drop a cage down and let them go at it, it was a PERFECT setup for Mark Jackson to say... "Oh would that have kept you from being dragged all over the court by 'Zo's ankle" but he didn't bite :(

I usually like JVG's commentary, but he sounded like an amateur there. That was obviously a dirty play from Stackhouse.
