Glad he didn't get a monster contract because now resigning Merriman should be much easier.

He could have demanded more, but took one for the team. This makes re-signing Hill and Trufant easier. Also props to Kerney and co for restructuring their deals to make this happen. Good job all around.

Take notice Shaun :ihit :ihit

^^ Alexander that is :lol

I figured Alexander would be waived/traded by now. They have Morris, Duckett and Jones? Morris was better than Alexander was last season, wasn't he? Seems like having a high-priced 3rd/4th back is pretty stupid.

Well if you cut a player after June 1 (I think you can designate someone a June 1 cut but do it before) it affects your cap differently. Seahawks would save a lot more money that way. But either way the Seahawks would take a big cap hit. Since his trade value is so low, they will probably get shit for him. They might just wanna give him 1 more year to see if he can regain some of his form. Either way I could care less. See if he can bring it or let him rot on the bench, no big deal to me. Jones and Duckett have always split carries so I don't see any problem with them continuing that trend.

As for Morris he's a good backup, but that's it. I wouldn't say he's better than Alexander, and I can't stand Shaun. Depends on what we can get for Alexander, but I see Morris taking the hit instead. I never wanted to give him the contract, but since they did they might just have to wait it out a little longer because that cap hit will be nasty.

I Think Ware/James/Ayodele/Thomas/Ellis is the best linbacker league in football

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Hawks yet think Tatupu is great; however labelling him as the best LB in football is sort of, um.... ignorant.

Evan

I think calling him the best is extremely premature but the dude is solid and has massive upside. Good for Seattle not wasting time and getting this done.

Evan
03-24-2008, 10:36 AM
Oh and trade ya Bobby Carpenter for him!

According to Bill Parcells someone that has a family member who played in the NFL makes them triple extra good regardless of simple logic and evidence.

No freaking way.

I'd still probably take Ray Lewis over him. Patrick Willis too. Demarcus Ware.

Agree. He is going to make a fortune very soon by the way.

No surprises here; Charger fans think they have the best LB core, Niner fans think Willis is the best, Cowboys fans think Ware is better and they have the best LB core.

Only Seahawks fans know the real truth :spin

I might have to agree with you. Although I do think Merriman is overrated. Too one dimensional for me. But he is a beast in that one dimension.

He did improve, but he still has lots of room to improve. I actually thought they stiffled his pass rushing in the beginning of the year.

The big question though, is would you trade Rivers and Merriman for Eli Manning?

Bill will get them set right over time through the draft.

Just be prepared for his sheer obsession with family members who play football and players he has been with before.

Even with the dolphins having the #1 pick, I'd still take the Seahawks future over theirs 10 out of 10 times.

Seattle radio station KJR-AM 950 is reporting that Seahawks MLB Lofa Tatupu has been arrested for drunken driving.

KJR apparently has a copy of the police report which shows that Tatupu blew a .155 and a .158 percent in his breath tests, nearly twice the legal limit. Tatupu just signed a six-year extension worth $42 million in March, and this is his first major off-field incident since entering the league in 2005. He shouldn't face any disciplinary actions.
