STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State won its first Big 12 Conference series of the season with a 6-4 triumph over Texas A&M in the decisive finale Sunday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Michael Dabbs led the 26th-ranked Cowboys with a five-RBI effort, and Tyler Blandford earned the win on the mound as OSU improved to 3-3 in conference play and 15-6 overall.

The 17th-ranked Aggies (17-6, 3-3) jumped out to a 2-0 lead off Blandford in their first at bat. Kyle Colligan walked to lead off the game, and two batters later, Dane Carter brought him home with a single. TAMU’s second run came on an RBI single by José Duran.

OSU took the lead in the third with a three-run rally. Neil Medchill opened the frame with a single, and a single by Thomas Belza put Cowboys on first and third. Dabbs then stepped to the plate and blasted a three-run home run to right field. The homer was Dabbs’ first as a Cowboy.

The Cowboys added to their lead in the fourth, again via the long ball, as Rebel Ridling delivered a solo shot to left field to make the score 4-2. The home run was Ridling’s sixth of the season, which is tied for tops on the club.

Dabbs added to his career-high RBI total in the sixth, driving in OSU’s final two runs on a triple to left field that gave the Cowboys a 6-2 lead. The junior right fielder finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate.

Following the two-run first inning, Blandford kept the Aggies off the scoreboard until the seventh when a solo homer by Luke Anders cut OSU’s lead in half.

TAMU scored its final run of the game in the eighth on another solo home run, this one off the bat of Carter to make the score 6-4.

Blandford worked a career-high eight innings and improved to 3-1 on the season. The sophomore right hander allowed four runs on six hits and struck out four.

Matt Peck worked a scoreless ninth for his second save of the season.

Ridling had two hits in four at bats for the Cowboys, while Medchill led the offense with a 3-for-4 effort and scored a pair of runs.

OSU will be back in action with a midweek showdown against No. 2 Arizona at Reynolds Stadium. The two teams will square off Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

26 isn't a rank. It's 1-25 people. Anything more is just unranked. Geez.

The Big 12's Sunday curfew... no inning can start after 4:30pm. It's a pretty crappy rule.

Oh serious I thought they did away with that a couple years ago.

Nope, I wish. The last time it happened was a game late last season in may between KSU and A&M. Texas also took advantage of it in a game a few years back against Nebraska where they took a 1-run lead and purposely delayed the game in the 7th inning to ensure the game would be called before Nebraska had a chance to come back.
