Does anyone know that the Mavs 1st round pick that was traded to N.J, in the Kidd trade is lottery protected?
In other words, if the Mavs go on to tank the rest of the season, they actually have a shot at a real high lottery pick and an outside chance at the #1 pick.
I want the Mavs in the playoffs.
They don't need to be rewarded with a real high draft pick!
Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Findog

The pick is indeed lottery protected.

Seems pretty clear to me what to do:

- Go into the lottery, get the 14th pick (probably) or an outside, slim shot at a top-three pick, and fill a hole

or

- Squeak into the playoffs, send that pick to Jersey, and get drilled by the #1 seed.

Exactly....

Too funny when the spurs suck I never post on this forum and pile it on, especially when they lose 3 to 4 straight recently. The lakers without 2 of their best bigs are down to small ball (naturally) and weak spurs fans create a thread....hahahahah. Fucking weak no doubt.

Nice by the W's -- a 72-point half, followed by a quarter in which they make 3 FGs and score less than 20.

great second half comeback by Lakers to match the Warriors' collapse.

Down 1 possession the 8:40 remaining.

Jax is making love to the pressure right now. Couple of big threes in the final minutes. Looks like he might have just iced it with about 8 seconds left, but you never know with Kobe and the way the Warriors play D.

EDIT: Final 115-111, warriors.

You know I like Sjax and he does make big shots but he also takes a lot of dumb shots and makes dumb plays from time to time. There's a reason they are in the 8th seed.

With the loss, Lakers fall into a tie with NO for best record in the WC. Suns only 1/2 GB, SA and Houston are one back.

Five of the eight EC "playoff" teams would not qualify for the WC playoffs as things stand today.

Please I couldn't resist...check your b-ball acumen.....look at the records between each team the last few years. We own them and they beat a depleted Laker team....I would love to play them in the first round. It would be our easiest match up.

I would absolutely love to play GSW in the 1st round. When we get our bigs back we will dominate them like we have been doing the past 4 years.

People are forgetting the Lakers are still playing short handed, this was a game where Bynum or Gasol would have made all the difference. I'm impressed that we were able to come back and almost pull out a win, we certainly aren't a team that is going to go away quietly no matter how undermanned we are.

Doubtful the bigs will be coming back at full strength and will need time to work back into the system.
Anyway, the bigs won't can't help Derek Fisher who was doing his matador routine and got exposed mightily tonite.
GS licking their chops, they can taste another dramatic upset.

If you think GSW is licking their chops to face the Lakers after damn near blowing a 25 pt lead you are outside your mind. We are tailor made to destroy them.

And aren't you 0-2 against GSW? Maybe you should be the ones worrying......

Warriors have tough schedule in the next 10 days, DAL twice w/o Dirk, so they could really eliminate DAL, but also play SA and DEN.

Jackson IS the reason they are the 8 seed. Without him they are worse than Sacramento. Remember the 0-6 start?

Yes he makes dumb plays, but he's gotten much better this year as opposed to the previous 3-4.

Plus, he's one of the clutchest players in the game. Dude hardly misses when the game is on the line.

S Jax was retarted in Indy, but he is water in GS. He has made so many clutch shots for them. He is a leader too now. In Indy he was a cancer. That Indiana team just needs to completely rebuild. Too much negativity over there.

GSW will get obliterated by our front court in the playoffs.

Gasol dropped 40+ on them earlier in the season, and Bynum has averaged 20+ pts/15rebs/5bpg. It's going to be a blowout of a series if there ever was one.

I'll reiterate it again. There have been no talks of Bynum coming back yet even though he was "supposed" to come back a while ago. The Mavs thought the same way of the Warriors last year too, so think however you want to.

I'll reiterate that the Laker organization NEVER EVER EVER said Bynum would be back in 8 weeks. They said 8 weeks MINIMUM you fucktard, knee injuries aren't exactly an exact science. And if you had followed the news instead of running your vomit mouth you would have seen the numerous articles and quotes from Phil Jackson himself stating they expect Bynum to be back playing a few games before the playoffs. And the Mavs lost to the Warriors because they had no dominating interior players, the Lakers have two of them. And last I checked the Spurs are 0-2 against the Dubs, shit maybe you should be worried too.....

Fuck next your gonna tell me Bynum tore his ACL right?
