Mavs 1St round pick is lottery protected

and because of that it won't go to the Nets in the Kidd trade if the Mavs do not make the playoffs!
There is a good possibility that they might even try to tank the rest of the season.
Losers, I wouldn't put it past them!
They could even get the #1 pick although not likely, still it's possible.
At the very least they would get a very good player with a real hight draft pick to go along with Dirk and Kidd. :bang

Who cares? Even with a high pick, they're not contenders next year. Kidd will be even older and slower than he is now.

I'm pretty sure the Mavs will make the playoffs. Everyone is making a big deal about the western conference as well they should. But for the most part 9 teams are in the hunt and all that is changing are the seeds. I don't think Dallas will fall lower than denver who is the current 9 seed
