Didn't see this anywhere else but if it is, sorry.

Bones rejoined the team last night at their hotel and has officially re-signed. Expect "official" announcement from the Spurs sometime later today.

Spurs Sign Brent Barry

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed guard Brent Barry. Per team policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Barry was traded to Seattle, along with Francisco Elson and a 2009 first round draft pick, in exchange for Kurt Thomas on February 20. He was then waived by the SuperSonics on February 21. Barry appeared in 29 games for the Spurs this season and averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 18.7 minutes.

Barry originally signed with the Spurs as a free agent on 7/15/04. In four seasons with San Antonio he averaged 7.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 259 games. He currently stands fifth on San Antonio’s all-time list in three-pointers made (with 354).

Over his 13-year NBA career, Barry has averaged 9.7 points and 3.3 assists in 854 games. He has also played for the Clippers, the Heat, the Bulls, and the Sonics. The former Oregon State Beaver led the NBA in three-point field goal percentage during the 2000–01 season with a .476 (109-229) mark. During the 1995-96 season, Barry was named to the All-Rookie Second Team and won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest which was held at the Alamodome.

I get the feeling Pop is not gonna change the current lineup even though Finley is playing very badly....

maybe hell do it like in 2005 when he put Barry in the starting lineup right in the playoffs.....

With the spurs already playing 12 man roster...does this mean the Stoud gets the boot? He might survive for now because Horry is hurt, but what happens when he comes back? He or Bonner are the only ones I can see that would get moved and at least the rocket can make a shot from time to time.

Brent will need to get his legs and his rhythm back so that should take several games. I'm not expecting the same minutes Brent was getting before the injury, but I am expecting better offensive flow when he is in there.

I expect Stoudamire and Bonner to take turns sitting on the same row with Kelvin Sampson.

With Horry's injury and Damon's poor play of late...I think Damon (and to a lesser degree Finley) is going to see his minutes effected the most.

Anyone know when the terms of the deal will be disclosed?

I've heard rumors of a 3 year deal, which sounds too much if it is true. Signing him to next year is good because then we could trade him before the season a la Danny Ferry in case he decides he wants to hang it up. In fact, I think that would be the best thing to do (assuming it isn't illegal concerning the rules.)

The Spurs aren't known for releasing the terms of deals, are they?

Edit: It's in the article SpursWoman posted:

Did he bring a healthy leg? It sounds doesn't really know or trust how his leg is.

I'm happy to have him back, but his health and conditioning remain to be seen. Here's hoping...

The Kurt Thomas deal actually seems to have already been a win for the Spurs. But to get Thomas for Francisco Elson and a pick and a chance to significantly reduce Barry's salary while keeping him away from other contenders would seem to cement it as a great deal for SA. If Barry provides anything, its a huge bonus.

Name the top 5 all-time 3-pointers made for the Spurs without looking it up! The only 3 I am sure would be there are Dale Ellis, Sean Elliott and Chuck Person. Who else? Vinnie D?

As for Brent, give him 20 minutes off the bench for a couple of games, then start him if he looks okay IMHO.

What do you mean by top 5? Most 3-pointers in a career, or most important/spectacular 3-pointers?

And fair enough too. Elliott has 2 ls and two ts and we all should know that. My mistake was a typo... ;)

Wow, Bruce, of course, silly me. And Manu. Duh. Thanks strange Kori/timvp hybrid! :lol

I guess Dale Ellis wasn't here long enough, but I know he was the all-time NBA 3 point leader at one stage (late 1990s/early 2000s).

Hi, I'm new here and it's really to be here because of Brent being back with his old team.
Our team just keeps getting better. I love to see how Ime and Kurt find ways to keep us in the game and how Timmy sees them take care of business and not let others push us around.
Great to be here!
