View Full Version : Suns @ Pistons - 3.24.08

The Suns take on the Pistons tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills tonight at 7:30 ET.

Who will control the tempo?
Which Pistons squad will show up--the one that got beat by the Wizards last night, or the one that demolished the Suns by 527 points earlier this season?
Will Amare score 40?
Will Rasheed argue with the refs?
Will Raja Bell play?

Watch and find out! :elephant

I'm excited, but I could have swore the Suns only lost by 427. Xylus, you should know you don't need to exaggerate for effect. :)

If it's a close game, I think the Suns can take it. I've liked their execution in late-game situations since their collapse vs. Utah. If it's a 10+ win, I think the Pistons take it.

Great news. It was bad enough that we have no defensive answer for Billups, but no defensive answer for Rip would be disastrous.

We're not going to catch Boston to achieve overall home court ... so why push ourselves the remainder of the games?

OT!!!

JMarkJohns
03-24-2008, 09:05 PM
I fear this OT period. Suns had their chance, up five with just over two minutes remaining, and couldn't get the big rebound when they needed it most. That Rasheed three really hurt. Even though Amare sank the pair of FTs to tie the score, momentum is still on Detroit's side.

Well, it was pretty terrible near the end. Nash got 2 FTs when he was passing, which was bad; Billups got a 3-point play on an obvious charge; Shaq was hacked near the end of regulation; Amare probably got fouled by Sheed on that block; and the call on Raja Bell was ridiculous.

Raja Bell pushed off of McDyess with his off hand so he couldn't get the rebound and your just mad because Amare got that weak shit blocked.

Typical of PHX, whine/moan/complain after a loss instead of accepting it like men. No surprise since their headcoach is the biggest bitch in the league.

Nash's foul on Billups wasn't a charge, but it wasn't really a block either. Nash looked like he started falling before he actually was hit. I would have liked a no-call there but there was too much contact for a no-call. It was an either or call to me.

Shaq definitely got hacked at the end of regulation by Stuckey. They officials missed that.

Sheed did not foul Amare. Not even close.

Raja Bell probably fouled Dice but that's a call they shouldn't call considering the time and score of the game. Even though it was probably a foul, I wouldn't have minded if they held their whistles on that one.

And it looks like Flip make some sort of attempt to limit the starters minutes taking out overtime they played either less or very close to 30 minutes, except Billups.

With the win the Suns would have tied the Lakers for the Pacific division, thus a shot at #1. It really hurts. It's far worse than the actual 3rd to 5th fall infers. Much, much worse. They needed this to keep the pressure on the injured Lakers. Now there's a full game twixt the pair, and it may as well be two since the Lakers won the season series.

Wish I had a clever reason or a backstory. Somewhere along the way I picked it up and have always used it, both in type and speech. I searched and there's like 50 uses here (in three years), and another 70+ at my other main site (in four years). I wish I could search some of the old, crytic message boards I cut my chops on. The answer is probably there, but those have either upgraded or closed down by now.

Come to think of it, I believe it stemmed from those little personality profiles that occompany most message boards. For the location I'd have some variation of, "Twixt reason and madness."

I'm fairly certain that's how it became a common word for me.
