Any comment on this, Kori?
For the second straight game, Duncan refused to talk to the media. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich felt for his superstar, who is getting banged around and may be growing a bit frustrated.

Strange.
His Frusteration is understood, he got the crap beat out of him last night, while ticky tacks were allowed on the perimiter.
Duncan has a beef, hes a 2 time MVP, and he gets no better treatment than Devin Brown.
I would be annoyed if I were him.
But to not talk to the media?? Doesn't seem like Duncan.
Its too bad Pop is too CIA to extrapulate on all of whats going on.

duncan is sick and is not in a good mood. if he can not get over this cold I can see him being in a bad mood. the media is all over him for not scoring 20 points a game anymore.

Duncan doesn't talk to the media after every single game. He never has. This isn't news. And it's not like he comes out and then refuses to talk. He just doesn't come out when the media is there. Only a handful of players are available to talk after each game. Sometimes Duncan is among them, sometimes he's not.

My question would be to the author of this, whats so special then, as what Kori says, about this game last night?

Yeah, kinda curious phrasing here. The article specifically said he "refused to talk", as opposed to "was unavailable". The intent behind what was written is clear.
Given what Kori said, they were intentionally misleading.

Well I noticed during the shoot around that he didn't participate and just sat on the bench while everyone else was shooting and stretching. I can't say that I have seen him do that before, but I am not always looking for that.

He shot around.
What are you talking about.
Same routine as every night at the SBC.
Well, I take that back, he shot three high arching left hand layups with Malik for competition instead of just two.

If your talkign about going into the second half coming out of halftime?? Yeah hes always done that.
He also sits down for the last 2 mins of pregame shooting as well.

He's mentally preparing himself for the ball-hugging.

He stopped running out to the rim and hanging on before the player annoncemnts this year though. He was doing it at the beginning and stopped for some reason about 10 games ago.

I thought he's out there more at the pregame shoot around. I usually pick him out more than last night.

He was at the pregame shootaround. Did his normal Schtick just like always. Its really funny how much a creature of habit he really is. All the players really.
He always does a few 1v1 sets with Bruce before the game after the layup drill.
Bruce always rips his pants off way in the air after the lights come back on.
Horry always goes and grabs the rim after the announcments.

Well, they did come back on... just not the big high intensities so he ripped them off anyway.

Duncan is probably the smartest player in the NBA, with that said, he also has most respect from refs in the nba. He gets plenty of questionable calls in his favor

Duncan is not a media darling...never will be.
Sir Charles he is not.
Hence his poor jersey sales outside of Texas.

Duncan has recieved a few calls his way, but for the most part the refs have let the opposition beat the shit out of Duncan every game.

Duncan gets a lot of love from the refs, especially on the defensive end.

Duncan gets hacked in there every single night and NEVER loses his temper, never hauls off and punches guys, never gets ejected, never berates the officials after the game. For some reason, he doesn't get the star treatment much, like D-Rob before him. Maybe because of D-Rob before him, maybe because they both put up with it, maybe because they play for the "boring" Spurs and not the Fakers or Lebron's team. But he has a right to be pissed. He's handling it pretty decently, I'd say.

Every bigman gets hacked in this league, the refs don't call it because they'd have to call a foul on almost every play and they won't do that, plus they're blind and miss half of them anyway. Offensively i agree tim does not get the benefit of the call, he earns them the hard way, but defensily he might get away with a hand on the hip but the refs have decided that is not a foul.
If Tim has a problem, it's not that he's getting hacked it's because he's not feeling to well, a nagging injury or what have you. He just doesn't look to confident in his step, maybe hip or leg.
