Cavs couldn't help us as they lost in the lasts secs from NO 98-99 - this was a critical game for the Spurs because NO is going to Boston right now where is going to take BIG HIT there by 20+ pts, the same way the Suns did it (just last week ago, BOS had 65-55 lead at NO, but lost the game in the 4th, this time will be different!), however this win today makes the Spurs job for the 1st place more difficult - I counted this one as a SURE LOSS for the Hornets...DAMN! I watched the game and they left him open because Paul had beat his man to the hoop, they needed someone to come over so he didnt get the layup, he came, Paul kicked it to West at the free throw line, and West drained it with .6 ticks left on the clock. So the reason why Mike Brown left David West open was because Chris Paul was going to make a layup. I'd give up an open jumpshot anyday before and open layup.

I think you're the stupid one, It's not like they were tied or leading the game. They were trailing and needed the best bucket available. It presented itself with 7sec remaining, they could still win the game on defense.
