The way we are playing tonight we are setting ourselves up for a loss. It went from a 3 pt deficit to a 13pt one in 1 minute.

ElNono
03-26-2008, 10:57 PM
We are playing without our anchor, Bynum otherwise this wouldnt be happening. Plus our defensive stopper, Ariza would be all over that Carrol dude. And Gasol would be taking Emeka to school. Never mind the score, on paper we are the team to beat!

:rolleyes

There, I replied for you. You sound like a broken record by now anyways.

No the Lakers are out of gas and will lose barring a miracle 4th quarter.

It's games like THIS that make the people who say that Houston's streak really wasn't all that big of a deal because of the schedule look stupid. Never take a win over an NBA team for granted.

It's gonna be uphill for the Cats playing 5 on 8 down the stretch. Travel call missed, no-call as Richardson was fouled on the jumpshot, Lakers can do all the pushing in the world to get the offensive board, etc etc.

This game is done. I knew the Bobcats would give us trouble tonight. Our lack of bigs just killed us tonight. The Bobcats scored whatever they wanted in the paint tonight.

It doesn't help that Kobe played perhaps the worst game I've seen him play all season. He has completely lost his cool tonight, and honestly I'm glad he has gotten 15 technicals. Now he can shut the fuck up about foul calls and just play ball. Phil needed to do some coaching tonight to reign him in, but as usual he sits on his lazy ass and does nothing.

DazedAndConfused
03-26-2008, 11:51 PM
This is the best thing that could happen for Kobe and the Lakers IMHO. I'm getting sick and tired of him whining and complaining about every foul call, now he HAS to shut the fuck up or else he will get suspended. He needs to get all this stupid anger and aggression out of his system and approach the game with a much calmer attitude.

The Lakers will be fine, Charlotte has always given us trouble historically. I'm not at all surprised they took advantage of our lack of bigs and mauled us in the paint.

No that is the entire reason we lost tonight. Put Gasol, Bynum in the game and we win easy.

This was a poor poor loss. These are the kind of games you cannot afford to lose. We caught the Bobcats on a back-to-back and failed to take advantage. None of the remaining games we have left will be easy until we get our bigs back. We are going to have to scrap for everything from this point onwards.

And don't sleep on the Bobcats, they beat the Celtics twice this year. They are a good team when they are focused.

Okay..But your team without those two is still better than the Bobcats. This just shows you that nothing is automatic in the NBA. Even with Gasol/Bynum you could have still lost.

Of course not, but the Bobcats took advantage of our one weakness tonight. They owned us in the paint. Turiaf and Odom could not contain Wallace/Okafor/Nazr. That was the ballgame right there. If we had some sort of interior presence on defense this game would have been easy.

At the end of the day, the Hornets are in great position to claim the #1 seed. They are 2 up in the loss column on the Rockets, Lakers, Spurs. They also currently own the tie-breaker against each of these teams.

As of now the most probable scenario looks like NO at #1, the Lakers & Spurs battling for the 2/3 spots, Utah at #4, Phoenix and Houston battling for 5/6, Dallas, Denver and G-State fighting for the last 2 slots.

If this is the way things pan out, the last Spurs-Lakers game could become very important in deciding home-court.

03-27-2008, 12:11 AM
Not surprised we lost and we will probably even lose some other games we should win before we get healthy. With Gasol and Bynum out our offense is nothing but jumpshots and drives from Kobe and Odom. Kobe also had a terrible game. Until we get back our 7 footers this is not surprising at all.

Can the Bobcats still make the playoffs?

Right now, they are 5 games out of the 8th seed with 11 games to go, so yes, mathematically they are still alive, but it is highly unlikely they will make the playoffs.

Bobcats have been the Lakers' achilles heal for some time now. I don't know what it is about this team but they always bring out the worst in the Lakers. That's the only sub .500 that "owns" these Lakers.
