Toros Finalize Trade With Iowa Energy

AUSTIN, TX (March 26) – The Austin Toros announced a trade today that sends guard Curtis Stinson to the Iowa Energy for forward Josh Gross.

Stinson (Iowa State) was acquired from the available player pool March 1st and in 15 games split between Austin and the Utah Flash averaged eight points and three rebounds this season.

Gross, a 6-5, 190 pound forward from UNC-Greensboro joins the Toros roster averaging 15 points and five rebounds. Gross started the 2007-08 season with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds before being traded to the Iowa Energy. Gross will join the Toros tonight for the first of a three game road trip in California. He will wear jersey number 17 when the Toros return to Austin next week.

I don't know these players enough to judge the trade but Gross seems to be a talented player.

On a side note, Austin lost yesterday at Anaheim 109-104

Next game will be on Friday against LA Defenders. It should be an interesting one.

Josh Gross was the guy I never heard of who had like 40 points on 16-of-17 shooting against the Toros a couple weeks ago. Stinson wasn't anything special so this was probably a good game. Whenever someone shoots 90% against you, it's a good idea to trade for that player.
