He burned the bridge on every team he played for but i'm sure teams wanted a jersey-retiring ceremony to sell out a game.
or a better question: do lakers/heat/magic fans want to retire his jersey?

The Lakers might, time heals most wounds.....

The Suns will just because he's Shaq and played for them at the tail end of his career, even though he didn't produce any championships for them.

It'll be a tough call for the Lakers. Even for a team with that much history you can't just not honor a 3-peat somehow. Perhaps they can compromise and retire his number, but put the name "Tubby Bitch" on the jersey in the rafters.

Orlando - best and only team of note they've ever had.

I think the three rings cannot be ignored in L.A.

Better yet, who will retire Horry's jersey? Or will a team even retire his jersey? I know some Spurs fans would want his jersey retired here.

LA has to. 3 finals MVP"s, one league MVP. I mean, comeon, I know busting on Shaq is fashionable now, but he has done way too much in LA to not get his jersey retired.

I'm guessing Lakers will. Whats the rule for the basketball hall of fame. Does Shaq get to pick a team he goes in under? If he does get a choice who ever retires his number and pays him will be the answer.

Probably every team he's played for, with the possible exception of the Suns, but that might depend what happens this year and the next two.

Lakers and maybe the Heat when Riley is gone.

I don't think its like baseball, I think they just put him in and list the teams he played for. Not sure though.

You can't be serious. Doubt Miami would retire his number and Phoenix is not gonna retire it no matter what happens in the next two years.

The Heat retired Michael Jordan's number, and he never even played for them!!! I say Shaq gets his number retired in LA, Miami, and maybe even Orlando.

I think the Lakers will, but it will be down the line, like maybe 10 years from the time he retires. He walked out on Orlando, and trashed Miami on the way out. He didn't exactly honor them. Why should they honor him?
