I would like for them to be called the Oklahoma City Najeras.

I thought Bennett was going to leave the name, colors and records in Seattle.

Cleveland Browns 2.0

1st of all, the penis-envy Tulsans are ALL up in arms because they want the team to be "Oklahoma" and not "Oklahoma City." Frankly nobody besides Tulsans care about that part, just still up in the air.

The naming frezy has already begun. I expect there to be some sort of contest, much like Baltimore had.

Roughnecks
Outlaws (old USFL team)
Oilers
89ers (old baseball team for YEARS)
Gamblers (yes, I know it was the SA USFL name)
Thunder
66ers (Route 66 and Phillips 66 but the Tulsa D league team is this)
Stampede
Bison
Buffalo
Bandits
Riggers (oil field ref)
Stallions
Tribe
Rush (land rush ref)
Vortex
Barons (as in oil baron)
Cougars
Rattlers
Dusters
Ropers
Rednecks
Hook-Echos
Posse
Redlegs (Ft Sill is home the Army Artillery and are the Redlegs)
Thunderbirds (the famed 45th Infantry in Oklahoma were the Thunderbirds)

Then there were some more colorful ones:
Road Kill
Pot holes
Possums
Armadillo
Southern Baptists
Bricklayers
Carpet Baggers
Noodlers
Cranksters
Tweakers
Obese-Chainsmokers
Buffet-Busters
Bible Bangers
Flatlanders
The I got drunk and did what to your sisters
Mullets
Methamphetamines
Bullfrogs

Names most agree not suitable:
Tornados
Twisters
Bombers

findog's right. Bennett's gonna leave the Sonic name and colors in Seattle, so chances are that next year were gonna have the Oklahoma City Cougarzzzz! (or maybe not...)

My question is will the NBA realign the divisions here? It would make sense to have a Southwest division with the Spurs, Mavs, Rockets, Hornets, and the new Oklahoma City team. Then you can move Memphis to the East (where they belong) in the Central division and have Milwaukee move to the West and take the Sonics place in the Northwest division.

By the way, the name could have been an instant success: Sonic's world HQ are in OKC.

That would make the most sense, but then you make the East even weaker by adding Memphis. While Milwaukee sucks, they do have some talent to be a decent team in the near future. Memphis has nothing to be excited about except for Rudy Gay.

If Memphis wins the lottery and land Michael Beasley, that might be inject SOME life in that franchise. Hell, they should try to bring back "Big Country" Reeves or something at this point.

Aww man thats messed up.. Oklahoma bombers would be such a bad name. But I'm just not sure what name they could come up with that would go well with Oklahoma City... Either way though, I'm really happy about this. We Oklahoman's are very passionate when it comes to sports, so adding an NBA team would be AWESOMEEEE!!
