sounds like every other hip new indie band that somehow found their way as MTV intro music for whatever the current Real World/Road Rules Challenge is.

You're talking about Fall Out Boy.

There's no way Vampire Weekend sounds like them, or any other of those MTV boy bands.

That album is very good. It kinda sounds like Paul Simon.

Also check out the new Black Keys album Attack&Release... I'm not just saying this b/c I'm a BK honk, the album is awesome. It was produced by Danger Mouse so it sounds different than their older stuff.

fall out boy isn't hip enough to make it as return music for Real World these days. It's definitely Vampire Weekend, or maybe Grizzly Bear or Death Cab For Cutie or whatever is the latest flavor of the month fake-indie indie band.

Not saying they aren't any good, but MTV keeps running stupid promos for them, and it gets in the way of me watching The Hills.

lol Danger Mouse is the Timbaland of the fake-indie indie rock crowd.

Danger Mouse & The Shins are collaborating as we speak.

Gotta check them out.

I think it's far superior to their first album; they let Brendan Benson run with the sound a bit more.

I don't know what you refer 'fake-indie' but tBK are indie by definition and have been since their beginning. They have released albums under Alive Records and Fat Possum Records...about as independent of a label as you can get.

Don't worry about him.

He's just pissed that the Black-Eyed Peas haven't released a new album yet.

I like it. Very smart sounding, catchy tunes, Ivy leaguish----they could be Steely Dan's kids or grandkids (I know all the young guys will hate the comparison). And Jack White's voice is :tu on the new Raconteurs.

Last 2 albums released by Warner.

I don't give a shit about if they're really "indie" or not. the term indie is pretentious bullshit as it is.

yeah I do. I really like some of their stuff, but some of it just bores me. Like their good songs are really good, but their fillers are hard to get in to.

I've listened to Vampire Weekend's first single a couple of times on the radio, and I thought it was pretty good. As soon as I'm done listening to Flogging Molly's new album for the 201st time, I'll give VW a listen.

They're pretty good. They're what you would get if Paul Simon and Ladysmith Black Mambazo nutted in four Harvard women.
