The Mavs are going to need every bit of that 3-game cushion because I only see the Dubs losing to NOLA and PHX.

I don't know, the Warriors are like the Nuggets, in that they usually have down the stretch "hiccups" against sub .500 teams that cost them dearly. I think this is a trend that continues in the playoffs (lack of basketball smarts in tight situations). Which is why I think DEN and DAL make it to spots 7 and 8, and GS misses the boat.

Dallas has some tough games ahead of them no doubt, but I think this is the stretch that could kick them into another gear (and be primed to cause a first round upset) or have them truly try to regroup in the summer.

Mavs split between LAL/PHX (my guess is they beat LAL) and win every other game, finishing up at 53-29.

You really can't make a prediction of the final game against the Hornets because who knows if NOLA has an incentive to win. And GS won't beat Phoenix in Phoenix. Mavs need to win three more to get in.

Because I think New Orleans cares more than other teams about seedings for some reason so therefore I think they fight till the last game of the season, and believe me, Phoenix doesnt play D just like the Warriors so the Warriors can win that game.

No, you misunderstand. Their seeding may be determined before they play Dallas that night. In which case they would rest their starters.

But I don't think the seeding will be determined really until the last game of the season, thats how crazy this season is, LA & SA are right behind the Hornets too.

NO has a relatively easy schedule, especially when compared to SA.

If SA is 2 games behind NO, and there's only two games left (and assuming NO owns the tie breaker, which they currently do) it is very likely NO gets to use the final game as a rest period.

Maybe, whats crazy about the Nuggets, Warriors, and Mavs this season is that those 3 teams are inconsistent from night to night, you never know how theyre gonna play each night, so who knows if any of these teams go on a run and win every game or only lose 1 or lose many of their games left, we just have to sit back and watch...

If Dallas gets a split of the LA/PHX gauntlet, they're in. Aint no way the Warriors will catch them then.

Mavs lose Lakers/Suns and maybe Portland game. They win the rest. 4-3

Nuggets lose Warriors/Jazz/Warriors, win the rest. 5-2

Warriors lose Hornets/Suns. 5-2

So Warriors are goners.

I bet that loss tonight by GS will be the deciding factor in them missing the playoffs. :D Revenge is sweet.

I believer our magic # is 5 - combined Mavs W's and Dub L's.

I think the Warriors pretty much put themselves out last night. Jack has gone completely cold, and Baron doesn't seem to have much juice left either. Monta is the only one on that team that is playing with any kind of consistency.

I think Mavs come in at 7 and Nugs come in at 8. Although I would really rather see that reversed if the Spurs finish in the 2 spot.

nba.com has it at 6, apparently figuring in the tiebreaker the Mavs hold over the Warriors. But I agree with your number and have the Mavs' magic number at 5. (7 games remaining - 2 ahead and a tie goes to Dallas = 5).

Absent a collapse by Denver or Dallas, I think the Warriors are out. They lose the tiebreaker to Dallas and they're going to lose the tiebreaker to Denver as well. They need to be 2 games better than the Nuggets over the last 7 (though one of those 7 is obviously against Denver) or 3 games better than the Mavs over that stretch to get in. Not likely.

^, Yeah, we still have 2 against Seattle, so right off the bat GS can't finish worse than 5-2. Utah is a shitty road team, so there's another W. Portland we should get, even though it's on the road. NOLA might have nothing to play for in the season finale. I think most of us have the Mavs penciled in to get swept by LAL and PHX, but if we can get a split of those, GS might as well start scouting Kevin Love.
