What do you think? He's probabaly the #1 pick this year if he would have declared his eligibility, and already has the Heisman and a national title. Only thing I can think of is maybe he doesn't want to be a 49er.

LOL, I agree, no one wants to play for the Niners right now.

I think next year's Heisman is going to be Adrian Peterson, i think he's going to have a montrous season.

By the way, has there ever been an NCAA football player that was named the Heisman more than 1 time?

Yeah, a guy from Ohio St in the 70's named Archie Griffin. They talk about him all the time when these underclassmen (or 9th year eligible like Jason White) winners stick around to play another year.

Didn't know that.

I hope Adrian Peterson wins the Heisman next year.

I hope Reggie McNeal wins it next year.

You're a fool Jim...he won't even come close.

I still don't think Leinart is a pro QB. He'll be the next Bernie Kosar.

Bernie Kosar was a pro QB.

I meant a good one. Bernie Kosar wasn't much of a qb...but maybe I should have put...hmmm...Ryan Leaf...although not as screwed up in the head.

He'll be the next Bernie Kosar.

Bernie Kosar was a pretty decent quarterback. 11 year career with 5 playoff appearances.

126 games, 1994 completions, 3365 attempts, 59.3 comp %, 23301 yards, 124 TD's 87 INT's.

I am very happy that the Trojans proved all the east coast media wrong and whipped OU.

But Leinart reminds me of Scott Mitchell. Mitchell did have a couple of nice seasons with the Lions but overall, he needed too much time to get the ball off and eventually took too many hits to be effective.

Like Mitchell, Leinart is a lefty and is not very mobile. He has decent arm strength and is extremely accurrate. But Matt has had the advantage of being protected by an excellent O-line that gave him all kinds of time.

Unless Matt makes a concerted effort to improve his athletcism, I think he's destined to be another Scott Mitchell.

Leinart knows that the USC team he is going back to is better than the Niners! :lol
