UCLA is well-coached but Memphis is way too athletic for them

Herschel Walker
04-05-2008, 05:38 PM
Rose is a stud as a scoring PG. If he continues getting better as a playmaker he could be Derron Williams-like in the NBA.

Im hoping for a Kansas - Memphis final. That would be one hell of an athletic matchup.

I think it's a good sign for UCLA they're only down 3.

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 06:24 PM
I think the better sign is the refs rooting hard for UCLA. They're calling ticky-tack NBA type fouls on whoever is guarding Love.

Pistons < Spurs
04-05-2008, 06:59 PM
ohh nice......all up in Love's grill!

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 07:02 PM
^^And it wouldn't have been close if the refs hadn't blwon some questionable whistles off the ball vs Dorsey/Taggart. The difference in athletic ability is stark.

Not looking so good for UNC. They look completely lost on offense.

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 08:21 PM
Again, the difference in speed is the key ... Jayhawks have too much depth and athletic ability for UNC

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 08:29 PM
Well, this is the only hope for UNC ... pray that the refs start sending UNC to the FT line

SAtown

I don't watch much College ball, but damn is it more physical than the NBA. If an NBA player got fouled like Hansbrough just did, Van Gundy would be hanging onto somebody's leg.

A 23-2 run for Kansas? Unbelievable!

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 08:36 PM
UNC and UCLA are media darlings who've been overrated all season long, especially UCLA. Watching ESPN, you'd think that Kevin Love and Tyler Hansborough were the second coming of Alcindor and Walton. It was obvious from the get-go that Kansas and Memphis had the speed and size edge, especially in the backcourt. You don't beat that much of an advantage by good coaching, no matter how good a coach you are

Slinkyman
04-05-2008, 08:37 PM
this aldrich kid is pretty damn good for a freshman who doesn't get to play much

Warlord23

Charge on one end, block on the other ... the refs are doing their best but this one won't be close

anyone else think Brandon Rush looks like Terrence Howard?

Hansbrough's a solid player, but how does someone that's picked to go in the low 20's in the NBA Draft get the Player of the Year Award?

Oh yeah, media darlings

Slinkyman
04-05-2008, 08:51 PM
hansbrough flops more then any other athlete in all sports, nba, ncaa, soccer... he's the best there is.

I so want UNC to win.

I started watching in the second half and picked them too root for because they are the underdog, at least score wise.

Also, all the people that I have known from Kansas have been mean.

UNC have been the underdog as much as the 2004 Lakers, 2005 USC Trojans, or last year's Patriots were. The national media has drooled all over this team throughout the tourney

If Kansas wins, I am rooting for Memphis since my family is from there.

This Finals should be a fun uptempo game.

Warlord23
04-05-2008, 10:08 PM
The championship game should be fun. The 2 most athletic teams in the fray going at it. I have Kansas over Memphis, but the only concern for Kansas is the way they lost composure early in the 2nd half. Memphis looks like it has no weaknesses

MajorMike
04-05-2008, 10:09 PM
umm...yes. The Lopez twins are going to abuse Texas.

You got the wrong two teams dog! It's going to be UCLA over UNC for the title!

The B12 has proven to be better than I thought. Even so, there is no way that UCLA and UNC don't meet in the championship. UCLA has the perimeter size to deal with Memphis' guards. And Memphis has no answer for Kevin Love.

Carolina is just more talented than KU. Game over.

And the hits just keep on coming...

This game is truly a pick 'em. I have no idea who's gonna win this one, it's a great, even matchup. I've thought for a long time that KU was the best team in the country, but that was when I was seriously underestimating Memphis. That Memphis team is a bad, bad machine with the way they're playing right now. They're dogging damn good teams as if they were playing a MAC schedule in the tourney. That said, KU matches up very well. The only problem I see is Chalmers being undersized to handle Rose or Douglas-Roberts, but Memphis will have their hands full with Rush as well. I'd take Arthur over Dorsey and Kahn/Aldrich over Taggert/Dozier so I'll give the edge to KU, but Rose and CDR can take over games as well. I just hope the game lives up to the matchup potential.
