Nuggets' loss gives Spurs playoff spot

Without lifting a finger, the Spurs clinched a playoff berth Saturday, thanks to the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings’ 118-115 victory over the Denver Nuggets Saturday night left the Nuggets and Golden State Warriors tied, both with records of 46-30. Since the two teams play one another Thursday, one of them will have at least 31 losses at game’s end.
The Spurs go into their game this afternoon against Portland with a record of 52-24, meaning they can finish with no more than 30 losses. Thus, they must finish ahead of either Denver or Golden State.
