I will miss the game, because Im on my way back from the race here in Ft Worth. Will watch it from the laptop though. In the car right now on the way to the race listening to the NBA radio show, and they just threw out this gem.

"Derron Williams gives Tony Parker trouble"

Ok, I can deal with that, but then they say this

"Yeah, along with Jason Kidd"

Seriously?

Doesn't bother me, just throwing it out there.

Go Spurs, kick the shit out of Portland.

Trail Blazers are a very respectable 25-12 @Port Land.

The Spurs are their weakest in several years on the road, only 20-18, behind the road records of NO, LAL, PHX, and HOU.

The games are "statement" now.
Are the Spurs really ready for the playoffs?

Yes tonight's game means a lot. They need to thrash the Blazers and excel in rebounding and shooting. I bet they do.

Derron gives Tony trouble as vice versa. Those two have leadership roles on a contending team so it's no wonder they do battle. Hell in a few years they might be the elites after Nash and Kidd are gone. With Paul, the darling as well.

If Roy plays in the game, Blazers are a very dangerous team at the Rose Garden. This is probably the most athletic team in the NBA that can actually hit outside shots. Brandon Roy runs the offense at a funky, odd pace that throws off defenders.

Spurs have to focus on rebounding, LaMarcus Aldridge and Travis Outlaw grab rebounds like the Chuckster grabs cookies.

If you haven't had a chance to watch the Blazers this year, you'll see why everybody thinks this will be an awesome team next year.

Spurs are going to have to come up with 100% effort today which I think they will. If Brandon Roy doesn't play, this should be an easy win.

Roy is "expected" to play.

"Brandon Roy, who has missed the last four games with a groin injury, is listed as day-to-day, but is expected to play on Sunday against the Spurs."

The offensive droughts the Spurs have been experiencing this year are a real concern. Granted, Spurs have always seemed to have this problem, but this year it seems to stretch for a longer period of time and against good teams, their defense doesn't always hold up on the other end when their offense isn't going for them.
