I'm running an Athlon 64 on Windows XP Profession (SP2).

I've heard that there are Linux programs that use the 64-bit and I know MS is coming with Windows XP 64 sometime soon.

That's the prob. Nobody's really designing drivers for it yet. Plus, since it probably won't be mass-marketed to the public, I doubt most manufacturers will have licensed drivers.

They're most likely going to come from the mod community.

i found drivers for Nvidia and Creative Labs (sound blaster) but the big problem is windows updates and security....antivirus and firewalls are hard to find.......It's fun playing with though!!! Can't wait for Longhorn :drunk

I've been working with 64-bit since 1996. It's called OS/400.

I would suggest a duel boot system with Windows 2000 64bit and Windows XP 32bit.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the new MS Longhorn, I've heard the release candidate out for download now has had nothing but problems.
